For Sale: 1965 Ford Mustang in Mesa, Arizona

Vehicle Description

While first-generation pony cars are iconic, this 1965 Ford Mustang is also done with an extra dose of character. It's a V8 coupe that has a distinct and correct color combo, and it's also been under quality care from the same family all its life thus far!

Prairie Bronze is a distinctive and premium '65 Mustang color. It looks especially nice today thanks to a quality respray. We have a $6k receipt from 2020 documenting the new paint, but all you really have to do is see the shine to recognize proper care and investment. And when a car has been in the same family for nearly 60 years, you see plenty of signs that there has been the right care. It's in the way the bumpers shine and the panels line up so well. Plus, you get a lot of the little things that get lost over the years, like an owner's manual and stock hubcaps.

The Palomino interior looks distinct against the bronze exterior, and the trim tag tells us this attractive color combo is factory correct. You'll spot a few places where this has been upgraded over the years, like a newer dash pad, and the headliner and seats look good enough to be newer. But nothing ever feels out of place. In fact, you'll love the stock details, like the desirable center console, working dome light, classic A/C unit (it will need the other major components to function), and AM radio that's still cranking out tunes. There's one upgrade you're likely not going to find in any other pony car... the ashtray hides a button for a horse whinny horn!

Under the hood, the golden accents of Ford's 289 cubic-inch V8 has an especially nice look with the rest of this car's colors. It has a nice stock style that could possibly be original considering this C-code coupe's lineage. But what you'll really like is that we have a receipt documenting a motor rebuild in 2019. So this classic remains a strong runner. The three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2020 to keep this a smooth shifter, too. Add in power steering and modern touring tires, and this is an interesting classic that's also a strong cruiser.

These first-year pony cars are true classics, and this one has the right features, history, and investments to stand out further from the herd. Call today!!!
