1968 Pontiac GTO with rare options. Yes, this is a GTO! It has the
option code 674 which deleted the Endura bumper for a chrome
bumper. With the combination of options on this GTO it is truly
rare. Other options besides the base GTO options include 6.5
Turbo400 automatic, radio, power disc brakes, power steering, soft
ray glass, air conditioning and console with His and Her shifter.
What else makes this vehicle special is the tasteful modifications
that have been performed. The headlights have been upgraded to
allow better visibility while you are cruising down the highway and
yes you can cruise at highway speeds. A Gear Vendor Overdrive has
been installed allowing for easy interstate driving. The air
conditioner is new and works great so on those hot days you can
stay comfortable. Overall, this GTO gives you the look,
performance, and ability to cruise in comfort. There are just too
many things to say about the GTO in a listing. I can provide a
great deal of the receipts and details on what we have done to the
GTO. In those cases where a modification was performed such as the
overdrive many of the original parts were retained and are
available. Below are some noteworthy details. Engine: The engine
has been completely rebuilt with tasteful modifications. Short
block modifications include H-Beam rods with forged pistons. ARP
bolts. The turning assembly was balanced as part of the rebuild.
The camshaft is a custom Comp Cams hyd roller with hyd roller
lifters. The Cam profile provides a noticeable lopey idle while
maintaining engine vacuum. The valve train was also replaced with
new pushrods, spring, stainless valves and topped off with roller
tipped rocker. Electronic ignition was also installed. Overall, the
engine is very streetable while getting the job done and it has the
appearance of a stock motor WINK WINK. Transmission: The turbo 400
was rebuilt at the time of rebuilding the engine. Special part of
the transmission is the addition of a Gear Vendor Overdrive.
