1983 TOYOTA FJ43 LAND CRUISER

This is the Cult Object! The FJ43 has a 6" longer wheelbase and is 22.5" longer overall than the FJ40. All the additional length is behind the front seats. You could easily put a forward facing bench seat to replace the fold down facing bench seats and still get a large cooler and gear behind the seat. The 43 is arguably the most desirable of all the J4 series because of its superior handling and ride characteristics. Look...they are all stiff, leaf sprung, solid axle trucks. It has the same 2F Engine with 4 speed transmission and 2 speed transfer case. It has 155,000 miles. The truck was imported from Columbia. Frame off restoration and paint 2016-17. Reliable, drives well, makes power, strong engine, shifts smoothly. White with gray soft top (new 2019). Gray upholstery, door panels, trim in excellent condition.
Front lift 3”, rear lift 4”. The truck has power steering (essential), Aisin Hubs, Vintage Air AC which was serviced 11/21. All fluids changed 08/21. Radiator re-cored, cleaned and sealed 05/20. Old Man Emu shocks and steering dampner. BFG All Terrain Tires 33x10.5R15LT, in excellent condition-no cuts and plenty of tread. New tie rod ends, all suspension bushings replaced in the last couple of years. Aligned in 2018, new battery 04/20. Panasonic Bluetooth radio. Replaced weather strips on doors, bump stops 06/21. New shift knobs, shift boots 05/21.
2018-19: New distributor, plugs, wires and cap, water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses flushed block, replaced intake & exhaust gaskets, adjusted valves, removed & polished rocker, replaced valve seals, replaced starter, rebuilt steering box, replaced rag joint, replaced Pitman arm, adjusted steering, rebuilt steering idler box, replaced spring u-bolts, replaced master cylinder, front pads, calipers, bled brakes. Repaired inoperative instrument cluster gauges, repaired horn/contacts, installed new rear step.
Truck is in very good condition. I have owned it for six years. It's the seventh J4 I have owned. Everything works. Mechanically solid, no rust. Well cared for. New exhaust system from manifold to tail pipe February 2022. Pictures show a hole in the exhaust but the entire exhaust system was replaced-(my lift has been occupied by another Land Cruiser so I haven't taken a new picture). Professionally buffed and detailed in January 2022. Shows well and is a real head turner but equally ready to be off road somewhere. I have too many cars and too many Land Cruisers and I really need the space. I don't really drive it much and have just lowered the price in September.
