The 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle is an icon. So to have a Super Sport
tribute with proper 396 big block power is always desirable. And
the color combo on this one is attractively distinct and
coordinated inside and out.
The bold orange paint is a later upgrade, and so the finish has a
nice gloss that lets this one radiate in the sunshine. You also
notice the added distinction from upgraded details like the LED
halo headlights, polished 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust
wheels, and a terrific stance from a wider rear set of tires. But
even with these upgrades, this one always loves to show off its
vintage flair with great SS-style pieces, like the dual power dome
hood, correct badging, and wide dual exhaust tips. And since black
looks terrific against the orange, the full-length SS396 side
stripes are painted on top. This goes well with the SS blackout
grille and rear panel coordinate in black. Straight body panels,
good body gaps, and bright chrome bumpers mean this has good
fundamentals, too.
When you open the door, you're greeted with a well-done black
interior. The upholstery, carpeting, door panels, and dash have a
deep dark color of a recent investment. The vintage details look
good here from the button-top seats to the working dome light. And
the best pieces here are all about the driver. Front bucket seats,
a center console in-between, a horseshoe shifter, and auxiliary
gauges under the dash make for a nice driver.
Under the hood is a 396 cubic-inch big block V8 for a true SS kind
of power. And we love the way this one looks with its Chevy orange
radiating a powerful message from within the dark engine bay. It
goes further than even Chevy did for power with performance
upgrades like Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, a Weiand intake,
and long tube headers add even more muscle while also contributing
to the rumble of the dual exhaust. The TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission is a stout and smooth unit. It sends power to the
upgraded rear end. The 12-bolt setup and tubular control arms make
for a strong package. Plus, power steering, power brakes, front
discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As give this a solid feeling on the
road.
This has the iconic Chevelle style, Super Sport upgrades, true big
block power, and a very distinct color combo. So if you want a
stand-out muscle car made for driving, call today!
