Michigan Title A Land Rover Defender 130 pickup is not exactly what
you would call common in the US, but to make this one more unique,
it has another trick up its sleeve. Maybe not up its sleeve, but
under the bonnet, in the form of a 6.2 Liter Chevrolet 'LS' V8. The
larger displacement engine puts a little pep in this Land Rover's
step, whether cruising down the blacktop, a dirt trail, or through
inclement weather. You can bet that your neighbor does not have one
of these. Such a unique Defender 130 deserves a unique color, and
that was achieved here with a semi-matte green paint color. Black
accents in the form of bumpers, grille, hood, wheels, exterior roll
bar, fender flares, and brush guards help break up the green. The
bed of the Defender is finished in a black bedliner, and carries
the full size spare tire. Knobby all terrain tires are wrapped
around factory 5 spoke Land Rover wheels. This Defender has a very
nicely maintained interior with only a few small clues to the fact
that the powerplant isn't what this Defender left the factory with.
The interior has been well maintained. Although this Land Rover
isn't a luxury vehicle, a few nice items have been added to make
traveling in this big vehicle more comfortable. An aftermarket
center console which includes cupholders, has been aligned with the
factory dashboard and this Defender offers air conditioning. A
black roll bar system forms a halo over rear seat passengers, which
we hope is never something that is never put to the test. An
aftermarket gauge cluster was nicely integrated into the dashboard,
which displays a number of tidbits of vital information for the
engine. Under the bonnet is a 6.2 Liter LS V8 sourced from a 2015
Chevrolet Camaro SS. The factory Chevrolet automatic transmission
remains in charge of gear selection. The Land Rover Lo and Hi range
selector is functional, which paired with the V8 engine, makes this
Defender sure footed in tough situations. Under the vehicle, the
factory Land Rover suspension remains, and the exhaust is a custom
system that contains a Magnaflow Muffler. The underside is solid
thanks to having spent most of its time in France before making the
trek to the good 'ol US of A. This Defender 130 pickup is a unique
vehicle thanks to the paint scheme, a more than capable engine, and
the body style being a 4 door pickup. It's ready for whatever comes
at it, whether on the road or off. This Defender is sure to get you
where you need to go. Call if interested or e-mail with questions.
