Vehicle Description
This 1957 Ford Custom 300 is the right kind of custom for
old-school fun. Beneath the classic style is a hot V8 and custom
interior that makes this feel like a 1950s Saturday Night cruiser
king. And you even get better control over it all with the
five-speed.
You could easily call this one a sleeper. The factory-correct
Willow Green was resprayed a bit ago, and today it has a nice shine
with the right touches of aging. So it looks like you just pulled
out a barn find. And this well-kept car shows off all the best
pieces, like the Thunderbird-style taillights and wraparound glass
both front and rear. Plus, the full-length side trim has a gold
insert and stylish dip behind the door line. It gives this vintage
car added distinction as well as highlights the straightness of the
sheet metal. The whole Ford has the outside appearance of a true
classic, right down to the color-matched wheels and dog dish
hubcaps.
The sea of green continues inside, but it's not the color that
first caught your attention. The tuck and roll style of the seats
and door panels give this vintage Ford the cool look of a 1950s
custom boulevard machine. There are solid classic features like the
good headliner, a working dome light, a smooth dash, the classic
Ford steering wheel, and even the AM radio is there for a display.
Plus, the restoration photo book even shows proper dynamat
insulation installed under the carpet. So it makes for a good
cruiser. And the Hurst floor shifter reminds you how fun cruising
the right classic can be.
The best street machines got solid V8 upgrades back in the day. And
so while Ford's 351 cubic-inch Cleveland V8 was over a decade away
when this Custom was built, it makes for the right kind of power
upgrade. We're told the V8 was built by Jerry Mason of Bud Moore
Racing. We don't have documentation on this, but it does have the
healthy power that suggests a professional performance build. It
also has the right components like a Holley double-pumper
four-barrel carburetor, a Shelby intake, a Pertronix Flamethrower
distributor, Boss 351 finned valve covers, and a large aluminum
radiator. The control of this enhanced V8 is firmly in your hands
thanks to the five-speed manual upgrade. It's a true classic that
wants you to feel the road, but a good ride and modern tires also
make this experience comfortable.
Sleeper fun and the right upgrades make for a very cool vintage
street machine. So it's time to have some old-school fun. Call
