For Sale: 1964 Aston Martin DB5 in Halton Hills, Ontario

Vehicle Description

1964 Aston Martin DB5 For Sale USA Delivered LHD, 5-Speed Manual, Factory Air Conditioning LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Most would agree the Aston Martin DB5 is the marque's most iconic model ever produced. Made famous by being driven on-screen by James Bond made this car a recognizable piece of pop culture. Enthusiasts who eagerly ran to slip behind the wheel soon discovered that, on a twisting alpine road, Aston Martin's latest and greatest creation also had the performance to match its Carrozzeria Touring bodywork. While based on essentially the same 98-inch-wheelbase steel platform chassis as the DB4, the DB5 boasted nearly 170 updates and modifications over the outgoing DB4, most noticeably the handsome competition-style covered, faired-in headlights used on most DB4GTs. Also was the new 4.0-liter engine, an inline-six of all-aluminum construction with dual overhead camshafts, fed by triple carburetors as on the previous DB4 Vantage. It was capable of 282 horsepower providing a top speed of 141 mph. The larger engine also provided some 40 pound-feet of torque over the DB4's 3.7-liter unit, making the car slightly more responsive at lower rpms. When combined with a fully synchromesh ZF five-speed manual transmission with overdrive, it resulted in a true driver's automobile that was swift, surefooted, and comfortable-a gentleman's express par excellence. This spectacular Aston Martin DB5 presented here was ordered new by its original owner John Barnes of Haverford, Pennsylvania. Only 193 LHD examples were ever built for the US market making this rarer than the European delivered cars. Factory finished in the iconic color of Snow Shadow Grey complemented by a stunning Dark Blue leather, this example looks classic and elegant. Shown on the build sheet are several non-standard equipment items including a Normalair air conditioner, Blaupunkt Koln TR radio, heated rear screen, 3.73 limited slip differential and two Britax Safety bolts to front seats. Over the last few years, the team at Legendary Motorcar completed a ground up restoration on this beautiful Aston Martin DB5. Prior to restoration, the car was a very complete original example which made the process a lot easier. The body was taken down to bare metal, prepped to show quality and then sprayed in its original color of Snow Shadow Gray. The interior was completely re-trimmed in this beautiful Dark Blue leather, the gauges restored and other interior pieces refinished so that it looks brand new. The numbers matching 4.0L inline six engine was completely rebuilt along with the other drivetrain components. A great amount of time and expense was taken to restore and obtain the correct parts. The undercarriage was completely refinished as well just as it left the assembly line when new. This Aston Martin DB5 is an exceptional freshly restored example with only test miles since new. Documenting this beautiful automobile is the Aston Martin build sheet and some registration documentation from previous ownership. The DB5 is one of the most iconic automobiles ever produced and a must have for any serious collector. Additional Details: 1964 ASTON MARTIN DB5 -
