Vehicle Description
Rare silver 1963 split window 327/360 Fuelie Corvette. This
incredible split window Stingray has undergone an extensive frame
off restoration and was upgraded in the process with some very
tasteful upgrades. The Corvette body was removed from the frame and
sanded down to the gel-coat. The body had great fitment, the
bonding strips were all intact and there was no evidence of any
accidents. The original color was Sebring Silver. The decision was
made to go with House of Kolor's Orion High Impact Silver. The
paint and body work on this car is
exceptional and reminds you of the futuristic Duntov and Harley
Earl designs
showcased at the 1962 Motorama.
Under the hood is amazing and looks factory original with a correct
327/360hp rebuilt, replacement block in thee car, topped off with a
fuel injection setup and less than 500 break in miles. The second
engine pad picture shows the
original 327/360 block stampings, that decode as the
original numbers matching and date code correct stampings with
correct broach marks. Unfortunately the block was damaged and the
mechanic
shop misplaced the
original block, however the picture proves its authenticity of this
being a real fuelie car. The replacement block could be re-stamped
to match the original vin # if the next
owner chooses to take the car back to
original NCRS
judging standards.
The previous owner wanted the rumble of side exhaust which was
not
available
late 1963, so made the decision was made to change the rear valance
and upgrade the car with side exhaust. A freshly painted rear
valance with exhaust cutouts and side trim come with the car if you
prefer factory rear exhaust. The Borg Warner 4-speed was upgraded
to a more durable Muncie 4-speed transmission with a Hurst shifter
for better shifting with less synchro noise.
The black bucket seat interior is a very nice mix of new and very
well preserved original. The dash cluster, gauges, clock and radio
were professional refurbished and refaced by CGR Restoration in
South Carolina, they look factory correct and new with the correct
6500 redline tach. This shimmering silver Corvette is set off by
brand new chrome turbine style US Mag with performance radials and
looks amazing. Other wheel options
are
available if you
prefer the stock look.
