Vehicle Description
What happens when you take chopped '32 Ford steel, bolt it to a
custom chassis, drop in a supercharged Chevrolet V8 and pile on a
list of mind blowing parts for good measure? You get one incredible
street rod that instantly becomes the center of attention wherever
it goes! Featuring a traditionally clean appearance, a custom
leather interior and a level of detail that requires multiple looks
to fully comprehend, this sweet 3-window coupe is a compilation of
top-notch components from some of the biggest names in the
business. And what's better: it's a fully sorted, professionally
finished award winner that was built, above all else, to be paraded
and enjoyed. Looking for an impressive classic that's ready for the
front row? Your chariot has arrived!
ALL STEEL AND ALL BLACK
When you set your sights on creating a top-notch hot rod, you have
to start with a team of professionals who know the ins and outs of
fabrication and assembly. Thankfully, the folks at Tullock
Automotive in Matthews, North Carolina certainly know how to build
an immaculate custom. The project began with a solid steel body
that was chopped two inches. During a thorough, no excuses build,
that perennial metal was carefully straightened and layered in rich
two-stage. And today, wrapping conservatively cool aesthetics
around fully sorted mechanicals, this coupe rolls as the kind of
timeless icon that'll turn heads wherever it chooses to roam!
Thanks to trick trim and an acute attention to detail, this street
rod really puts the "class" in classic. At the front of the car's
body, an upsized shell, stretched three inches, hangs a clean Dan
Fink grille between painted H4 headlamps. Sinuous fenders lead a
familiar profile that's shaved of everything but small,
body-matched mirrors. Those mirrors reflect a tinted greenhouse,
which follows carefully tilted windshield posts. And at the back of
the car, sinuous quarters frame a shaved decklid, a custom roll pan
and flush taillights.
SUPERCHARGED SMALL BLOCK WITH NITROUS
One thing you won't have to worry about in this Ford is power.
Thanks to a supercharged, 350 cubic inch Chevrolet small block this
sleek coupe complements big style with big substance! At the top of
the impressive mill, chromed Holley 4-barrels mixes air from a
polished BDS intake with a steady stream of dinosaurs that's
supplied by polished stainless fuel lines. At the base of those
carbs, a polished BDS 6-71 supercharger rides between billet
breathers and billet valve covers. At the back of that blower, a
hot MSD distributor shoots spark through loomed Taylor plug wires,
which snake around aluminum Brodix heads. Those heads, built with
Crane rockers and Crane pushrods, feed a Lunati cam, a steel crank
and TRW pistons. Cooling is provided by a quality Walker radiator,
which is strung in front of a large electric puller fan. Exhaust
travels through coated block hugger headers, which look great next
to the block's monochromatic paint. Charge comes courtesy of a
polished alternator that, along with a polished water pump and a
polished AC compressor, spins on an array of polished hardware.
There's a Nitrous Oxide Systems Fogger System that's impressive in
both appearance and performance. And overall, the car displays a
first-rate level of workmanship that conveys a high quality,
tailored demeanor.
NOTHING FACTORY HERE
Under this impressive custom, a smooth 700R4 4-speed engages a TCI
lockup converter to spin power through a posi-traction differential
and 3.73 gears. Those gears ride a polished, fully independent
rear-clip that's dampered with modern coil-over-shocks. Opposite
that clip, an independent front-half strings rack-and-pinion
steering between tubular control arms and two more
coil-over-shocks. Solid stops come courtesy of polished,
power-assisted calipers, two of which ride inboard of the rear
axles. The aforementioned headers slink fumes through stainless,
glasspack-style mufflers and center-outlet tips. At the corners of
the floor, polished U.S. Mags spin 195/70R14 Yokohama AVID
Touring-S in front of 235/75R15 Yokohama AVID Touring-S. And the
car's sturdy TCI chassis outlines acute details like polished pans,
a polished starter and polished half shafts.
CUSTOM HERE TOO
Inside this clean coupe you'll find a tasteful leather interior
that provides stylish complement to the car's monochromatic
profile. Front and center, modern leather mitts feel firm and
supportive. A flowing, billet-trimmed dash hangs muted VDO
telemetry above billet pedals and a convenient AutoMeter
tachometer. Small door poppers cap custom side panels at the edges
of a leather floor. A custom console feature buttons for modern
power windows. A custom headliner hides a modern Kenwood head unit.
Modern air conditioning keeps everything cool. And the driver stays
connected to the road through a polished and half-wrapped steering
wheel, which laps a painted, tilting column.
Since so many enthusiasts are focused on making their street rods
more about flash than fire, this supercharged Ford isn't exactly
something you'll see at every show. Is there anything better than a
two-person crowd-gatherer that barks through a big V8 and stares
through outrageous aesthetics? We think not. Call, click or visit
