Vehicle Description
"Sometimes the best ideas don't come from inside a company but
rather spring forth as a reaction to external forces. When
Chevrolet brought its two-seat Corvette to the New York Auto Show
in 1953, it couldn't have known that it was about to inspire Ford
to punch back with one of the most storied nameplates in the Blue
Oval's history: the Thunderbird." - Hagerty
One of the most revered Thunderbirds is the 1957 with its
re-designed front bumper and available hardtop with porthole
windows. This 1957 Thunderbird featured in its original color of
Raven Black with two tone black and white interior shows well and
drives great. This Thunderbird has been under the same ownership
since the early 70's. Although never rotisserie restored this
vehicle has been well maintained and updated as needed.
The older exterior repaint shows well with only a few areas of
imperfections. The Raven Black paint has great depth and shine. The
chrome although older and in some cases appears original presents
well without any major dents or pitting.
The two-tone interior upholstery had been replaced several years
ago and shows very nicely and is void of any areas of excessive
wear.
To the best of our knowledge the 312 cubic inch motor has not been
rebuilt but only well maintained throughout the years. With the
turn of the key the Thunderbird starts right up and easily goes
through the gears of the automatic transmission.
Whether driving with the black hardtop, black vinyl soft top or
just open cruising you will enjoy the experience in this 1957 "baby
bird".
