For Sale: 1969 Ford Country Squire in Marietta, Georgia
Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this beautiful
1969 Ford Country Squire in striking red over a gorgeous wood
finish and black interior. This wagon is all of your vintage dreams
rolled into one. It has the wood-paneled grocery-getter look on the
outside, with a 429 big block V8 under the hood. Nicknamed "Woodie"
as noted by the front license plate, this beautiful Ford is ready
to cruise with the whole family - and even the dogs! With the room
for 6 passengers in 2 rows and enough trunk space to fit a few golf
bags and more, what more could you need in a classic wagon?
Most of these station wagons from Ford were ragged out and used as
family vehicles, but you can tell there is something seriously
special about this one. With just over 10,000 miles on the
odometer, we believe that this car has seen the road very little
and only used for small trips such as grocery runs or church
visits. The factory correct red paint still shows very well with a
bright gloss appeal, and the wood was refreshed by the consignor
just before it was brought to us. The red and wood panel makes for
a very nostalgic color combination and the upgraded Coys aluminum
wheels adds a nice touch of modern. Ford made this car simple yet
attractive - with hideaway headlights in the front and a trunk that
not only swings open but also down just like a truck tailgate.
The inviting black interior with wood trim keeps the mind filled
with eye catching details. The dash is super clean with one small
disruption, but eyes are drawn to the wood trim on the steering
wheel and between the gauges. A gas pedal in the shape of a foot
adds a perfect little touch and a bobblehead luau woman playing the
Banjo makes it feel like you are driving in the hills of Hawaii
when behind the wheel of this Country Squire. Not to mention the
Eagles playing through the operational 8-track tape player to fully
encapsulate the feeling of living in 1969. Even though this car
seats 6 and has room for many more, as the driver you will
appreciate how Ford's of this era were centered around you. The
instrument panel shows all the gauges up high and the even the
radio aimed towards you on the left side of the dash. The AC is
also fully controlled by the driver, which does blow cold on this
vehicle (and is rare).
Under the hood of the LTD is the numbers matching 429 cubic inch V8
dressed in the bold blue of a proper Ford V8. This motor is solid,
and makes for cruising in the wagon a blast. The car stops just as
well as she drives, with disc brakes on the front tires and drum
brakes on the rear. Owned by a mechanic, this car has been fully
gone through and sorted. Out on the open road, the factory
four-barrel carb opens up and moves this large Country Squire with
authority. Backed by the 3-speed automatic transmission, this car
is always ready to ride. Don't miss your chance to own this
nostalgic piece of Ford history, give us a call today!
