Vehicle Description
What do you get when you combine the perennial swagger of one of
America's pre-eminent blue collar heroes with a roster of some of
the best performance hardware money can buy? Well, you get an
unorthodox workhorse that shatters preconceptions, expectations and
urbane enthusiasts' egos 'like a rock'! Mixing the universal appeal
of all-American style with the straight-line prowess of a pro
street predator, this stylish bowtie is one super cool resto-mod.
What's better: you can own and drive this exclusive head turner for
a fraction of the money and time it takes to complete a ground-up
build. Are you an enthusiastic buyer who's tired of the 'garage
furniture' culture that seems to pervade the classic car hobby?
This sweet Chevy is one of the coolest hot rods your money can
buy!
SHORT BED SIZZLE
Wrapping buff pro street aesthetics in a solid '90s profile, this
trick truck benefitted from detailed restoration that married solid
sheetmetal with a crisp coat of what appears to be '60s GM yellow.
Building on both '60s and '90s themes, that sublime pigment was
traced in black Rally Stripes and sealed in glossy clear. And all
that choice labor adds up to an appearance that's both stirring and
timeless! At the front of that flash, a painted and customized
bumper frames a painted GMC grille, which centers billet bars
between a collection of aftermarket torches. Above that clip, a
requisite Cowl Induction Hood fronts a tinted greenhouse, which is
complemented by glossy wipers and LED-lit foggers. That darkened
dome caps a boxy fuselage that stacks chrome handles and painted
mirrors on filled stake pockets and shaved rockers. At the back of
that fuselage, a lined bed centers a familiar NOS bottle between
upsized wheel wells, a tough battery box and a serious fuel cell.
And at the back of that bed, a tucked roll pan frames flashy
Altezza taillights and a shaved tailgate that's dotted with a third
chrome handle.
BIG BLOCK POWER
Check this pickup's Blue-lit engine bay and you'll find 468 cubic
inches of stroked Chevrolet big block that, with the help of
Nitrous Oxide Systems, turns tantalizing horsepower into miles of
addictive torque! At the top of that mean mill, a polished
Chevrolet air cleaner balances a trick bowtie wingnut over a
coated, electronically-choked 4-barrel. That carb dumps a good mix
of wind and oxygen through an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap, which is
paired with lightweight aluminum heads. Those heads hang polished
Chevrolet valve covers between a polished breather and coated JBA
Performance headers. Those headers get split by loomed MegaFire
plug wires, which play well with MSD 6AL ignition, an MSD Blaster 3
coil and an aftermarket distributor. Billet serpentine components
spin a polished alternator next to an aluminum water pump. An
aluminum Champion radiator makes excellent use of dual SPAL puller
fans. And choice detailing includes braided hoses, bright
reservoirs, a polished timing cover and a serious AED Performance
fuel pressure gauge.
PRO STREET PROWESS
Bottom-side, a dressed Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed twists power to
a narrowed Big 10 axle. That dressed pumpkin pushes a tough ladder
bar rear-clip, which stacks QA-1 springs and adjustable Competition
Engineering Drag Shocks in front of mandatory wheelie bars.
Opposite that clip, a thick sway bar leads traditional power
steering. Power-assisted stops come courtesy of a polished booster,
which jolts factory-style discs and drums. Exhaust floats from the
aforementioned headers into 3-inch pipes, which beat rhythm through
rowdy Flowmaster mufflers. And the truck sits right thanks to
polished Billet Specialties Comp 5s, which spin 205/70R15 Uniroyal
Tiger Paws in front of 33x21.50-15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman
Pros.
STYLE AND PURPOSE
Between the doors, a carefully customized interior provides a
delightfully simplistic driving experience. Two-tone leather
dresses a duo of bucket seats. Those thrones face a straight,
billet-trimmed dash, which plants digital telemetry between varying
toggles, modern Pioneer audio and a massive AutoMeter Sport-Comp
Monster tach that's complete with a shift light. A beefy Hurst
shifter sails clean carpet, which floats between custom,
billet-tinged side panels that front factory power windows and
factory power door locks. Billet sill plates, bowtie-branded visors
and Auto Gage accessory gauges add both form and function. And the
driver spins a half-wrapped Billet Specialties steering wheel
around a tilting column.
A nicely finished classic that was built to be driven AND seen,
this rowdy Chevy uses top-notch components to create a unique
classic that mixes killer personality with awesome curb appeal.
Looking for a super cool hot rod that's guaranteed to draw a crowd
wherever you go? Your search is officially over!
