Vehicle Description
STK 3199 1970 Ford F-100
This 1970 Ford F-100 is stunning. You will be hard pressed to find
a nicer one. Ford produced the fifth generation F-Series pickups
from 1966 to 1972. Built on the same platform as the previous
model, this truck featured sharper styling and a larger cab with
better visibility. This fully restored F-100 looks basically stock,
but has experienced a significant performance upgrade. Power is
furnished by one of Ford's rarest FE motors - the 427ci
'Side-Oiler'. These engines were used in many racing applications
in the '60s including the Shelby '427 SC' Cobra. This engine was
completely rebuilt in 2012. Performance upgrades include an
aluminum 2x4 intake manifold, dual Holley carburetors, healthy cam
and stainless tube headers to a free-flow exhaust. With the
dress-up package, this engine looks and sounds like an SC Cobra.
Behind the big FE is a 3-speed automatic transmission. The
undercarriage has also been nicely detailed and a Ford 9"
differential with street gearing spins Goodyear Eagle GT radials
mounted on period-correct 15" vintage Magnum 500 wheels. The
chassis is equipped with power steering and power disc/drum brakes
w/dual master. The solid body was carefully refinished in Rangoon
Red, said to be the original color. Chrome is excellent as is the
'FORD' tailgate insert. The painted bed is virtually perfect.
Inside the cab, seating was reupholstered in black cloth/vinyl,
custom door cards were installed and a padded dash holds a full
compliment of factory gauges along with an AutoMeter tach. Sounds
are provided by an AM/FM sound system and loop carpeting is
protected by Ford logo mats. Every component of this truck is
top-shelf. This F-100 certainly has visual impact, and it runs
better than it looks. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS"
