Vehicle Description
STK 3247 1927 Ford Model T Runabout
Many folks refer to the pre-1919 Model T as "Vintage", after that
"Veteran". The beautiful 1927 Model T roadster is a seasoned
Veteran. The '27 Model T was the last year of the 'T' as the next
generation was introduced in 1928 - the infamous Model 'A'. This
Ford is an outstanding example of the Model T Runabout body style.
Many of these Runabout models were long ago converted into street
rods, but this 'T' survives as 'restored to original' roadster. The
current owner's family has possessed this 'T' for over 40 years and
has provided a comprehensive binder of restoration
documentation/receipts. Restoration of the interior and exterior
was completed in 2004 and included new Deep Plum/Ford Black paint
and black vinyl upholstery. A folding soft-top is in excellent
condition and the Runabout has a covered "turtle deck" trunk over
the rear wheels behind the passenger compartment. All gauges (that
would be the amp meter) are in working order and a beautiful
'convex' spoke steering wheel accents the interior. One of the most
prominent upgrades to the Veteran models was the introduction of
the electric starter that made firing the 'T' a much easier and
safer proposition. (A crank is still there for backup.) Electrics
including headlights/taillights are 6-volt with a battery located
under the trunk. The inline 177 CID 4-cylinder flathead in this 'T'
has been rebuilt and runs well. The transmission is a 2-speed
forward Hi/Lo planetary gear unit that is operated by a three-pedal
configuration. The original metal 30-spoke wheels have been
carefully refinished and mount a set of matching correct tires. The
rear mounted yellow spare is nothing short of classy. This Model T
Runabout is a very rare roadster that would be a wonderful addition
to anyone's Blue Oval collection. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
