Vehicle Description
1961 GMC pick up truck from a gentleman who had it in his barn with
plans to restore it and use as a driver. He never got to it and
called me to check it out as I collect chevy pick ups. I bought it
and brought it home. I was planning on restoring it, get it running
and driving but I ended up buying a few other collector trucks/cars
for my collection and wont have time or room to get to this truck.
The truck has a v8 engine in it the previous owner installed. (it
was a 6 cyl originally) It turns over and free but I could not get
it to fire up in the short time I tired it. Should be able to get
running with some work and time etc. The truck has been converted
to a automatic. The auto shifts the gears and it rolls in neutral
easy. The shifter is a makeshift shifter and should have a better
one installed when you get it to that point. The truck is complete.
The body looks really solid for never being restored. There was
some minor body work started with some filler on the rockers and
cab corners. The roof of the interior cab along the windshield has
rust. The previous owner started to fill in but never finished it.
The seat and interior is survivor quality. The floor has been
patched with steel here and there and is solid. The bed is missing
the wood. The tires are older and hold air. This truck has a clean
title. The frame looks solid. I do not want to over call it or
under call it. this is a project truck but definitely workable and
with some TLC, something you dont see everyday being a GMC. The
hubcaps do not go with the truck or sale, I put them on to have the
truck look good for people who stopped and checked it out when I
had it outside for advertising during memorial day. This truck has
a really cool look! Please Note The Following **Vehicle Location is
