These cars are not for the faint of heart with 800hp produced from a 5.4-liter supercharged engine backed by a 6-speed manual transmission, these cars were created for the person who thought 550hp just wasn't enough. The car starts life as a customer-purchased 2012 Shelby GT500 that Shelby will convert to Super Snake status with help of some needed upgrades. It starts by upgrading the supercharger to a Kenne Bell unit, helping the new all-aluminum 5.4-liter Ford V-8 make 800 bhp, roughly 250hp more than the original car. This is backed by a Hurst shifted 6-speed transmission with an aluminum driveshaft sending power to the 3.73 rear end. 20-inch Shelby/Alcoa wheels are mounted over Shelby 6-piston front- and 4-piston rear disc brakes, improving Ford's already excellent performance suspension. The Super Snake is readily identified by its scooped fiberglass hood, quarter window scoops, rear spoiler and badging. Inside, the Black leather interior is upgraded with "Carroll Shelby" embroidered headrests, Alcantara inserts and auxiliary gauges, the final and most important touch being the unique dash plaque with the car's special Super Snake serial number. The car being offered for sale is finished in Black accented by a Matte Black center stripe. This color combination is carried through into the interior. With only miles on the odometer, this Super Snake has been under single ownership accumulating only 3,450 miles since new.
