Vehicle Description
The revolutionary Ford Mustang caused a sensation when it went on
sale April 17, 1964, as a 1965 model. All three body styles: coupe,
convertible, and fastback wowed onlookers, but the sporty
convertibles were the top attention getters. Almost sixty years
later, first-generation Mustang convertibles are still universally
admired and sought by collectors. This 1965 Ford Mustang
Convertible comes with Ford's great 289-cubic inch small-block V-8
with a two-barrel carburetor. This engine was a $128 option over
the base six-cylinder engine. This example is backed by the C4
automatic transmission and a conventional rear end fitted with
2.80:1 gears. The first-generation Mustang featured an independent
front suspension with upper A-arms, coil springs, lower
strut-stabilized control arms and tubular shocks. The solid rear
axle featured leaf springs and tubular shocks. The beautiful
burgundy paint shows very well and is a perfect complement to the
parchment color interior. The electric powered convertible top is
in excellent shape and operates smoothly. The vehicle is believed
to have only 52,263 miles. This one will not last long. See
