The bold style of this 1980 Chevrolet Camaro is now backed up by a
powerful 383ci stroker motor, a five-speed upgrade, and plenty of
other performance goodies. And you get to enjoy it all from the
comfort of an A/C interior. So read on for all the details about
the power and even added comfort of the in this thoroughly upgraded
restomod.
A bright red sets a speedy tone for this coupe. It only gets better
with the attractive color-matched Z/28-style body kit. And the
billet grilles help announce the car's attention to speed and
style. The iconic dual black stripes were painted for a look of
permanent quality. Plus, they do a terrific job of highlighting
everything from the full-width rear spoiler to the upgraded cowl
induction hood. These racing stripes also kick off a dark side that
continues on the headlight buckets, rear panel, and brand new 17"
staggered US Mag alloys.
Inside, the black matches the exterior accent color for a nice
uniform presentation. The dark finish is attractive on the seats,
door panels, carpeting, dash, and other fundamentals. This is
comfortable for everyone with upgrades like cold-blowing R134a air
conditioning, a cup holder center console, and an AM/FM/CD stereo
with aux input. But the best treats are reserved for the driver.
That includes modern-style sports bucket seats, a sports steering
wheel on a tilt column, and upgraded AutoMeter Sport-Comp readouts.
And have you counted the gears on the Hurst shifter yet?
Under the hood is a clean and mean presentation of the upgraded 383
cubic-inch stroker V8. More than just a nice displacement, this is
upgraded with Edelbrock aluminum heads, an Edelbrock Victor Jr.
intake, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and Hedman long tube
headers. It also has the right supporting components, like an MSD
ignition and an aluminum radiator. You get true control over this
upgraded power and rumbling soundtrack thanks to the Tremec
five-speed manual transmission. As you look underneath, you'll see
a terrific comprehensive subframe connector (it even incorporates
the dual exhaust) that adds strength to the coupe. There's also an
upgraded front sway bar and traction bars in the rear. While that
makes for an awesome power car, this one is built to be a full
cruiser. After all, the five-speed also means an easy highway gear.
Plus, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and brand new Toyo
tires make for a solid anytime driver.
