Vehicle Description
From 1968 through 1982, the third generation of Corvette was
produced by Chevrolet. The engines and chassis components were
mostly carried over by the previous generation, but the body and
interiors were all new. It set new sales records with 53,807
produced in 1979. The body was patterned after the Mako Shark and
was designed by Larry Shinoda. The C3 would remain pretty unchanged
throughout the years with the exception of some cosmetics and of
course HP changes during a time that would be considered the worst
time in Automotive history with a looming fuel crisis, the
government getting involved with how safe cars should be, and
vehicles going through growing pains as with new computer
technology. With all that going on, the Corvette managed to stay
the course with a for the time was probably the wildest designed
automobile. GR Auto Gallery of Traverse City is very pleased to
represent this what I believe to be one of the nicest C3's we have
had. This car has recently went through a complete engine out
mechanical overhaul with nothing being overlooked. The paint is in
good condition as is the interior. Tires, brakes and suspension are
near perfect and everything is in working order. This Vette starts,
idles and goes down the road seriously better than new. There are
no funny noises anywhere and just a really fantastic all around car
fitted with the Big Block and automatic transmission. These C3's
are really coming in to their own when it comes to appreciation and
collectability.
