For Sale: 1968 Jaguar E-Type in WINSTON SALEM, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

1968 E-Type Series 1.5 2+2. It has a Ford 302 engine with a 4 speed automatic, 4 barrel 650 carb & possibly a mild racing cam shaft. Previous owner replaced unreliable & high maintenance Jaguar engine with a dependable Ford engine. Ford engine can be serviced at your local shop reducing cost of ownership & the inconvenience of taking the car to a classic Jaguar mechanic. With the mild race cam the rumble of the exhaust get a lot of attention.

The car has minimal undercarriage surface rust. The body has an old paint job but still looks good. It has a few paints chips, a small hood dent & a small amount of amateur touch up on the driver door. Flaws are shown in the pictures. The interior is in good shape-np tears or rips, all the gages work except the clock. The tach is a newer model & it has a newer am/fm/cd radio.

Owned by a retired mechanical engineer for the past 10 years in which it has been driven only 6652 miles. Meticulously cared for, Can supply receipts for all the upgrades & repairs while owned. The car does not leak any fluids.

  • It does not leak any oil or antifreeze.
  • Strenghthened front frame rails. Replaced upper & lower ball joints & bushings including shocks
  • Installed electronic ignition
  • Rebuilt 650 Holly carb
  • New front brake pads
  • Rebuilt entire drive train from drive shaft on back. Includes balanced drive shaft, rebuilt differential, all brake parts, universal joints, bearings, shocks & bushings.
  • New starter, alternator & water pump
  • Overhauled brake system, rebuilt booster and master cylinder and several brake lines
  • The engine was removed & the crack shaft main bearing seals were replaced

I can't take credit for the engine conversion & definitely no credit taken or the stove pipe exhaust pipes. If desired the conversion could be reversed. The Ford parts could be sold possibly for about the same price as the Jaguar parts.

It has been a great car for the past 10 years & excited to see it go to a new owner that will enjoy it as much as I have.
