2003 GMC Envoy SLT
The GMC Envoy is a mid-size SUV, manufactured and marketed by
General Motors for model years 1998-2009 over two generations.
Adopting a nameplate used by GM Canada, the Envoy was a rebadged
variant of the Chevrolet Trail Blazer, Oldsmobile Bravada, Buick
Rainier, Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 9-7X. General Motors assembled
the model line at its Moraine Assembly, (Moraine, Ohio), and
Oklahoma City Assembly, (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma). Both facilities
were closed by 2008, leading to the discontinuation of the model
line. The Envoy was not directly replaced in the GMC model line as
General Motors transitioned its smaller SUVs to unibody-chassis
designs. introducing the smaller GMC Terrain and larger GMC
Acadia.
For consignment, the upscale SLT trim level graces this 2003
version of the Envoy XL, added extra luxury and convenience
features to the base SLE trim, including a six-disc, in-dash CD
changer, a Bose six-speaker premium amplified audio system, OnStar,
polished aluminum-alloy wheels, luxury leather-trimmed seating
surfaces, dual heated front bucket seats, Driver Information
Center, faux wood interior trim panels, a universal garage door
opener system with a travel note recorder, a dual-zone, automatic
climate control system, and a driver's memory system for driver's
seat, mirrors, and radio preset settings. It is a Pennsylvania 1
owner SUV, and it was always meticulously serviced at a GMC dealer.
No damage ever. All of this wrapped up in a nicely priced and
79,089 title verified mileage clean white wrapper.
Exterior
Miles have been kind to this 4x4 family hauler as it hardly has any
faults to speak of on the exterior metal. Gaps are extremely well
minded, and all are bathed in a wonderful coating of Summit White.
A chrome honeycomb grille and surround lead the way fully bedecked
with a red GMC badge and crystal-clear aerodynamic wrap around
headlights. A body matching neoprene crash bumper is below and is
complete with round fog lamps. Black trimming surrounds the factory
tinted glass all around, and up top a power sunroof leads back to a
luggage rack for the cross-country hauls. Rounding out the tail end
are tall wrap-around taillights and in between we see a dual
opening gate with the glass able to be opened separately from the
gate. Highly polished multi-spoke wheels are wrapped in nearly new
245/60R17 blackwall rubber. Did I mention it has headlamp
washers?!
Interior
High quality Dark Pewter leather awaits you to nestle yourself
inside of this luxury capsule. And you have heated and memory seats
to add to your comfort. A burl topped center console races towards
the dash and has a large leather armrest/storage bin cover
perfectly aligned for your right and left elbows respectively. As
it moves toward the dash, we can see a pair of cup holders, a rear
heat/AC fan controller and the automatic shift lever. As we move
upward the burl continues around the dials for the 4wd control,
rear wiper, digital climate controls and the Bose Premium
AM/FM/Cassette/6 CD Stereo. In front of the driver is a
multi-gauged cluster with black faced gauges and LCD gear readout
and odometer, which are amazingly easy to read. In back is a large
leather bench with comfy seating for 3 adults and maybe more kids!
Also, has a third-row seat and rear air conditioning. The back
cargo area with a luggage shade is covered in clean Pewter
carpeting as are all floors. Above is a sunroof and a nice tight
seamless Pewter cloth headliner.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a venerable 5.3 Liter V8 LS engine. It is fed by
EFI and has a 4-speed 4L60E automatic transmission. 3.73 geared
axles provide the final drive. All clean and good under this
hood.
Undercarriage
Well cared for up top and underneath has been very nicely kept with
only surface rust making an appearance over the suspension
components. Speaking of which, we note an independent front
suspension and in the rear, we see a 3 link with coil spring
arrangement. New power disc brakes and new rotors are on all 4
corners and the factory single exhaust system is in place and
looking good.
Drive-Ability
Quick starter, smooth runner, nice acceleration from the V8. Swift
steering response and good cornering for a 4x4. All functions and
options are fully working, and the Dark Pewter leather fit my
posterior like a well broken in glove. A great drive and experience
for this beauty.
An all-exacting working GMC in high end form, plenty of convenience
options, go anywhere 4x4 capability, and all very clean and
