The C6 generation of Corvettes brought in all new bodywork
including a larger engine, a larger passenger cabin, and, for the
first time since 1962, exposed headlights. The C6 included a
reduction in the car's width by 1 inch while the wheelbase was
stretched 1.2 inches. In addition to these changes, the Corvette
engineers developed a wireless pocket transmitter that could only
operate when the transmitter was in close proximity to the car.
