Restoration includes being taken apart, paint stripped, block
sanded and completed with a beautiful paint job. It had all new
rubbers and gaskets, then reassembled. All of the chrome was redone
and the engine compartment and undercarriage were refurbished.
Recent service consisted of an engine tune-up, refurbishing the
gauges, rebuilding the transmission, replacing the engine wiring
harness, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch fork, pilot bearing, and
throw out bearing, brake flex hoses & brake drums were replaced,
and the brake system flushed.The undercarriage was restored, new
A-Frame bushings and new shocks were added as well.
This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette StingRay Coupe at Sports Car Company
is finished in maroon over tan leather and powered by a
numbers-matching 327ci V8 engine. It is paired with a wide-ratio
four-speed manual transmission and a 3.08:1 Positraction rear
differential.
Features include a stinger-style hood, Hurst Competition Plus
shifter linkage, power steering, a center-mounted electric clock,
carpeted Stingray floor mats, and crank windows. electronic
ignition, 15 inch turbine-style wheels with three-eared knock-off
spinners, power-assisted disc brakes, pop-up headlights, split
chrome bumpers, reverse lamps, tinted glass, a power-retractable
antenna, vertical push-button Delco AM/FM radio, driver-side
mirror, concealed headlights, reverse lamps, vents on the rear
pillars, cast rocker accents, split chrome bumpers, and dual
exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance.
The 15-inch turbine wheels are fitted with three-ear knock-off hubs
and are mounted with 215/70 Michelin tires. The car is equipped
with a rear transverse leaf spring, fully independent suspension
with upper and lower control arms, and power steering.
The cabin features bucket seats reupholstered in tan leather with a
matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. The interior was
recently refurbished with work consisting of repainting the
headliner and replacing the seat foam, trim, carpets, and seat
covers.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer,
tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level,
battery charge, coolant temperature, and oil pressure as well as a
dash-mounted ignition switch. The five-digit odometer shows 70k
miles, approximately 10k of which have been added most recently.
All gauges are said to have been refurbished.
The numbers-matching 327ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt and
fitted with an upgraded camshaft and pistons as well as a Carter
AFB four-barrel carburetor and a PerTronix electronic ignition.
The engine stamp 111680 matches the last six digits of the chassis
number plate mounted under the glovebox. The code to the right ends
in HF, which corresponds with a 327ci V8 rated at 300 horsepower
paired with a manual transmission.
