This is a real Super Bee, factory 4-speed car. Restored as an A12.
The 383 was upgraded with a performance built 440 6-pack.
EXTERIOR: The body and paint restoration goes back several years.
The body is excellent. It is straght, fits nice, no rust or damage.
They have installed the fiberglass, ram air lift off hood to make
it into an A12. The paint presents itself really well but has a lot
of imperfections from age. It has a bumble bee stripe. The jambs
are real good. The vinyl top looks good but is lifting in places.
The bumpers are a bit tarnished. Good original grill and tail
panel. New Coker 15 inch steel rims and Coker GR 15-70 radial
redline tires that look like polyglass.
INTERIOR: The dash area is very nice, not cut or broken. New dash
pad. It has factory rallye gauges including tachometer. There is no
radio. It also has a set of aftermarket gauges. The door panels
look good. It has bucket seats with a buddy cushion fold up
armrest. The seats are reupholstered. The best part is the big
Hurst shifter sticking out of the floor. It has complete set of
seatbelts. Headliner is tight, just a couple of small holes.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Professionally bored and stroked to a 494.
Inside it has a Trick Flow cam, Racetec pistons, Harland Sharp
roller rockers. On top it has Edelbrock intake, 3 rebuilt and
replated carbs, Flame Thrower billet distributor and coil. It also
has ceramic coated long tube TTI headers. Powermaster alternator,
restored wiper motor. Radiator upgraded from 2 rows to 3. The
engine bay was prepped and painted when the motor was out.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: New trunk pan installed. It's repainted real
nice Hemi orange. They purchased a 5th matching wheel and redline
tire for a spare. It also has jack assembly. New rubber mat.
UNDERSIDE: The front end looks like several components have been
rebuilt. New KYB gas shocks all around. In back it has new 6-pack
leaf springs and Calvert traction bars. Drum brakes all around,
e-brake assembly is hooked up. Fuel tank looks fresh, lines are
new. Ceramic coated TTI exhaust with crossover pipe, stainless
Black Widow mufflers, QTP electric cut outs and stainless tips.
Bottom of the motor looks brand new, new mini high torque starter.
Completely rebuilt 833 4-speed. New gears, gaskets, clutch and
flywheel. New Denny's driveshaft. Heavy duty Dana 60 rear end with
4.10 posi gears. The factory undercoat was stripped off the bottom
of the car. It's all clean metal painted body color.
No, it's not pristine but it presents itself really well. The A12
look is old school cool. Mechanics are the strong point. That 496
stroker with a 6-pack, 4-speed and Dana rear with 4.10 gears will
put a big smile on your face. It might make your passenger's face
look a little scared!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
