Vehicle Description
This 1942 Ford pickup is truly a special machine. It was part of
the very limited model year that was cut short by WWII, and today
it has been turned into an all-American street machine with V8
power, an upgraded suspension, and a custom leather interior.
The Burgundy Red Metallic is a terrific way to show off a
red-blooded American. After all, the short 1942 civilian production
line made way for the military machine that helped win WWII. So you
already have a better story to tell thanks to the rarity. And the
distinction goes further than just timelines thanks to the new
design that debuted for '42. It gave the trucks better integrated
headlights, larger fenders, and a tall grille that seemed to
inspire the imposing style of the first F-Series that would come by
the end of the decade. Bright chrome makes for a good classic
style, and so does all that real wood in the truck bed. But those
modern Ridler polished alloys on the lowered suspension also lets
everyone know the investments in this one were not just about
keeping it vintage. This truck is bright, sleek, and sporty, and so
the overall look is impressive. But it never gets so fancy that
you'll ever hesitate to cruise this pickup and tell its unique
story.
The interior is the right mix of vintage and upgraded. The steel
dash, classic readouts, metal door panels, and two-piece windshield
are pure classic truck cool. This is made for added comfort with
newer carpeting and a plush leather bench seat. This even has
provisions for R134a air conditioning (it will need servicing to
blow cold again.) It's meant to be a driver's truck with nice
upgrades like the sports steering wheel, tilt column, floor
shifter, and separate engine temp readout.
While this was born in the era of the flathead V8, there's an even
better Ford powerhouse under the hood today. It's a 351 cubic-inch
V8 with plenty of stylish polished components. It also has an
Edelbrock upgrade package that includes the valve covers, air
grabber, and four-barrel carburetor. It even has good supporting
pieces like an MSD ignition system and an aluminum radiator with
electric fan. The suspension has been upgraded over standard with
an independent front end and front disc brakes. Add in power
steering, power brakes, and a three-speed automatic transmission,
and it makes a fun cruising classic.
This is a standout custom pickup with a story to tell. So don't let
something this unique and obtainable slip away, call today!
