This 1972 Chevrolet El Camino is a proper Super Sport tribute that
gives you the right sporty look on the outside, driver-oriented
bucket seats inside, and a 396ci big block under the hood. It makes
for the kind of classic that was built to be fully enjoyed.
The tasteful white on this pickup has a clean and bright look for
when you're out on the streets. Since it's an older application, it
has an overall driver-quality finish, which means you'll never be
afraid to drive this one on a whim. The truck maximizes the clean
style with clear glass, straight lines, and deleted panel badges.
Plus, we love these El Caminos for their muscle car look and chrome
bumpers that would hug the form so nicely. The orange dual racing
stripes were painted on for permanence, and they really have an
irresistibly distinctive style against the white. Those bright
streaks kick off a speedy look that continues on the upgraded cowl
hood, hood pins, blackout grille, and matching blackout rear panel.
Plus, the polished Cragar SS wheels always look terrific on an
SS-style machine.
The interior was upgraded to a sporty black. The carpeting,
headliner, and dash all have a deep color and clean style. It makes
this a nice place to spend some time, and you have a Kenwood
AM/FM/CD stereo to keep you entertained. This was also a factory
A/C Chevy, but it will need most of the components to be sourced
and restored. Overall, your full impression is a driver-quality and
driver-ready setup. That's why you have bucket seats, a center
console, a horseshoe shifter, an oil pressure readout, and the
three-spoke Chevy sports steering wheel.
The engine bay is filled with proper big block power. This is a
396/402 cubic-inch V8, which is the correct displacement for this
era. A Holley four-barrel carburetor lets the motor inhale deeper,
and it exhales with a nice tune out of the dual exhaust. The TH400
three-speed automatic transmission is the right balance of stout
and smooth to be a good cruiser. Plus, power steering, power
brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As make it a strong
total package.
This is the Super Sport tribute that lives up to the legend in both
its style and power. So if you love a unique muscle car/truck like
an El Camino, you know you can't let this one slip away. Call
