on our YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/2-wBnr4hUpMWe purchased
this Defender directly from the municipality who acquired it new in
1992. One owner in impeccable condition and has the lowest number
of miles out of any on the market. We can build this Defender for
the next owner including a soft top conversion. Contact us for more
information.Land Rover released the 110 in 1983 as an updated
version of the original Land Rover from 1948. Changes between the
two included the introduction of coil springs, a permanent
four-wheel-drive system, a taller windscreen, and a more powerful
selection of engines. Cosmetic updates to the 110 were minor, but
included a full-length bonnet and wheel arch extensions. 110
indicated its wheelbase of 110 inches; the shorter 90 and longer
127 soon followed. Built through 2016, over the course of its
production run variants of the Defender were built for civilian
use, military use, exploratory excursions, and even emergency
response. This 1992 Land Rover Defender 110 Fire Truck is a
left-hand drive example powered by a V-8 engine backed by a
five-speed manual transmission. It is believed to be in original
condition, the odometers displays 13,006 kilometers at time of
cataloguing (~8,082 miles), after spending its career being
pampered in a German firehouse. We have driven this Defender
approximately 700 miles while in our possession including one long
distance road trip. She spent her life indoors being polished by
the rookie at a Feuerwehrfrau. The writing on the doors indicate
the firehouse was based in Laurein. Laurein is located in a german
speaking region of Northern Italy. Also on the doors are the words
Freiwillage Feuerwehr, which translates in English to 'volunteer
fire brigade.' Additionally, it is equipped with many of the highly
desirable feuerwehr accessories including flasher lights, siren,
passenger spotlight, winch, and roof storage boxes. While most Land
Rovers that are nearly three decades old are typically battered
from hard work, serious play, or have been restored to appear like
new, this example is an exception having been pampered most of its
life by the fire department it once served. This is a very rare find
and one owner. Please note: The white wheels and Super Swamper tires
shown are not included and used for display purposes.
