Vehicle Description
Incredible pro-built resto-mod. 2005 Pontiac GTO LS2 V8 and 6-speed
manual, all-new suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, full 2005 GTO
interior with touch-screen entertainment system. Outstanding paint
and bodywork. A beautiful Poncho that's a joy to drive!On a car
like this, it's hard to know where to start-the incredible
bodywork? The upgraded interior with a seamless blend of old and
new? The no-hassles drivetrain that brings 400 horsepower to the
table? The extensive documentation and build receipts? This is one
car that gets just about everything right in every way that
matters. We'll start with the paint, since that's what everyone
notices first. It's laser straight and impossibly glossy, with no
signs of major issues underneath. The '64 GTO has a classic look
and nothing about that has changed with the upgrades aside from a
pair of small nostrils in the hood for the cold air induction
system, and the results are pretty trick. Nothing has been modified
or shaved, just refinished to a very high standard to make this car
really stand out. Chrome and stainless trim was all restored and
even those taillights-which are notoriously difficult to
restore-are in incredible shape. There's a lot of money involved
here, and it shows everywhere you look. The interior looks right
because it's still 100% Pontiac. The front and rear seats were
pulled from the same 2005 GTO that donated its running gear, and
the red leather and high-back buckets look right at home in the
1964 cockpit. Reproduction door panels, new carpets, and a correct
dash tie everything together and remarkably enough, everything
works. The power seats move as they should, the modern gauges all
track the LS2 up front, and the A/C blows ice cold. There's also a
vintage GTO steering wheel wrapped in matching red leather. A
custom consolette was fitted to the factory center console to house
the touch-screen entertainment system, and there's a modern
retro-sound radio in the dash to keep the look consistent
(disconnected but it could easily be made functional). The big
chrome shifter manages a Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox and A/C
vents have been cleverly integrated into the sides of the console.
Overhead there's a black power convertible top and power windows
with new weather seals ensure it seals up well. The car includes
both a vinyl top boot as well as a custom fiberglass boot that fits
over the top and gives it a low-profile look that works perfectly
with the late-model back seat. There's also a large trunk that has
correct mats, a full-sized spare tire with jack assembly, and a
remote-mounted battery with cut-off switch. And just in case you
want a more OEM look, the original front buckets and rear bench
(all restored, of course) are included with the sale of the car.
The engine is a 400 horsepower LS2 V8 from a 2005 Pontiac GTO
(22,000 miles), which means bulletproof reliability and the kind of
flexible power that was unimaginable in 1964. The LS motor is a
neat fit in the engine bay and with original-style coil covers it
has a nicely finished look. Up front there's a polished aluminum
cold air induction system that uses air filter boxes fed by
openings in the hood-a cool addition that always gets people
talking. There's also a giant aluminum radiator with electric fan,
a custom accessory drive, and a modern dual reservoir master
cylinder for the 4-wheel disc brakes. The same GTO also donated its
Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, which feeds a 10-bolt rear end
full of 3.55 gears and a limited slip. Up front, there's a
Uni-Steer power rack-and-pinion steering setup and the entire
suspension system was just rebuilt so the car tracks like a cruise
missile. A custom Flowmaster exhaust system adds just a hint of
old-school muscle car and you'll note that the floors are in
excellent condition throughout. A new gas tank hangs out back and
it sits on retro-looking ION wheels measuring 17x7 up front and
18x8 in back and fitted with 225/50/17 front and 275/40/18 rear
performance radials. Documentation is EXTENSIVE. We have a
three-inch-thick binder full of receipts, manuals, tech sheets,
photographs, and period information. It also includes the original
owner's manual and the envelope for the first owner's title. It's
really impressive. In fact, 'impressive' is the best word for this
car. It's beautifully built, effortless to drive, insanely fast,
and highly documented. For a car to hit all those notes and do it
so well is quite rare in this hobby, so please take a good look at
the photos-this car is legit. If you like the blend of old and new
tech, this ragtop nails it perfectly. Call today!Harwood Motors
