Vehicle Description
STK 3210 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan
This 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan was the beneficiary of a partial
restoration in 2001. The solid, straight 2-door body received a
professional respray of Ford Raven Black that is still in very good
condition. The '56 model had more than its share of exterior chrome
accents and this coupe looks sharp. Stylish lines, subtle rear fins
and rear fender skirts are period correct perfect. Coker wide-white
radials are mounted on factory steel wheels with full wheel covers.
The partial restoration also addressed the interior. Beautiful
rolled and pleated black vinyl upholstery is as comfortable as it
looks. The headliner and carpeting are excellent and an
AM/FM/Cassette stereo system provides the tunes. This is a classic
'50s ride. The '56 Ford model could be ordered with a six-cylinder
or one of four different 'Y-block' V8 engines. All of the V8s
looked basically the same externally with the exception of intake
manifolds. Ford used a letter designation to identify engines, but
it was not an exact science. Based on the VIN number, this Club
Sedan was originally equipped with a 292ci 'M-code' V8. However,
the current owner was told that it is the original engine, a 312ci
'Thunderbird V8' that had been totally rebuilt and fitted with a
600cfm Holley 4-barrel carburetor on a factory intake. It also has
a dual exhaust system that exits through factory bumper 'exhaust
outlets'. The simple fact is, whether a 292 or a 312, this Ford
Y-block runs and sounds great. It is backed by a 3-speed
Ford-O-Matic transmission and factory differential. Steering is
power assisted and brakes are manual 4-wheel drum brakes. The '56
model had a 12-volt electrical system. This classic Club Sedan is a
solid investment that drives very well and will be a great addition
to your Blue Oval garage. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
