Vehicle Description
47,206 original miles. Rare Electric Green over white leather color
combination. Unmodified except new chrome wheels. Runs and drives
extremely well, everything works. If you want a fun, fast hobby car
that asks for very little in return, this Mustang is a great
choice! The Mustang was heavily revised for 1999 and the New Edge
styling has certainly aged well over the past two decades. No
longer soft and doughy, the Mustang got a new attitude that kept
the same great proportions and added a big dose of aggression. A
hood scoop is joined by two quarter panel scoops and cars like this
GT convertible had a front fascia with integrated fog lights, a
deeper rear bumper with dual exhaust cut outs, and a low-profile
decklid spoiler. The result is a great-looking Mustang that still
attracts appreciative glances in traffic, especially wearing the
unusual Electric Green paint-we can vouch for the fact that
everyone seems to dig the color. This car has never been used in
winter weather, so it's quite clean and there's no evidence of
bodywork or paint damage, and typical of Mustangs of the era, it's
pretty well assembled. The paint shines up nicely and looks awesome
in the sunlight. The only demerits might be a few chips in the
usual spots, but that's not surprising for a car that's going to
get driven. The fact that it has been owned by a Mustang enthusiast
for many years really shows. The white leather interior is a great
choice in a convertible-easy to maintain and comfortable in the
sun. By the time this 1999 GT was built, Mustangs pretty much came
only one way: loaded. That means cold A/C, power windows, mirrors,
and locks, a tilt steering column, and even a rear defroster for
the power convertible top. A full complement of gauges monitor the
revised 4.6 liter V8 up front and it makes great V8 sounds that are
especially enjoyable with the top down. There's also a decent
AM/FM/cassette stereo with an in-dash CD player. The automatic
transmission is a great partner for relaxed cruising and snaps
through the gears when you prod the accelerator. The back seat is
fine for kids and adults for short trips and you'll be pleased with
how well the top seals up, especially with the upscale-looking
headliner. There's even a decent trunk in back with the jack and
spare tire underneath that have never been used.Ford's
indestructible 4.6 liter SOHC V8 was revised in 1999, with a boost
to 260 horsepower and 302 lb-ft. of torque, numbers that make the
GT feel fast even today. This one remains entirely stock, right
down to the air filter, and that means reliability is unaffected.
It has always been properly maintained and runs superbly today-easy
starts and perfect idle thanks to modern fuel injection, and enough
torque to make the tires chirp on the 2-3 shift. It's also tidy
under the hood with factory hardware and original decals visible
throughout. The 4-speed automatic transmission has quicker reflexes
than you'd expect and with 3.27 gears out back, there's plenty of
punch off the line. With a tall overdrive, fuel economy is decent
and it cruises easily at speeds that'll get you a jail visit in
most states. The undercarriage is clean, obviously never having
seen winter weather, with only some surface scale on the heavy
metal parts. Even the exhaust is still stock! 4-wheel disc brakes
with ABS were standard equipment and ride quality is quite good
thanks to a more robust structure, even without a top. Brand new
17-inch chrome wheels are from a later GT and carry 245/45/17
Goodyear performance radials.Documentation includes the original
owner's manuals.Fast, fun, and affordable, this Mustang represents
perhaps the biggest bang for the buck in our showroom today. The
color is gorgeous in person and a late-model Mustang is one of the
easiest cars to live with. It's comfortable and fast as-is, and
with a booming aftermarket behind it, this could just be the start
of something amazing. That's what's great about the Mustang-it can
be anything you want. Call today!Harwood Motors always recommends
