Vehicle Description
A real-deal 1973 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that has been upgraded for
comfort and serious power is a muscle car dream machine. So when
you can find one this slick and ready-to-rock, you know this deal
might even be gone before you read all the details.
The striking first impression is not just that it's a real-deal
Z/28, but also how this one instantly tells everyone it's a serious
street machine. Buccaneer Red is a great color name for a car for a
muscle car bandit, and it's an upgrade later in life that remains
looking vibrant. Plus, the split-bumper Rally Sport upgrade is
particularly important here, because 1973 was the final year this
iconic look was offered. As a genuine Z28 on the trim tag, it has
more than just the correct badging on the grille, fenders, and
rear. From the wide air dam up front to the three-piece rear
spoiler, the car looks fast from any angle. The package would never
look complete without the black D88 sports stripes that are crisply
painted on top. Finally, it's all set apart with some extra flair
provided by the cowl hood and 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust
wheels. These let everyone know there's some added investment in
this coupe.
Inside is a great mix of comfort and performance. For example, the
all-black interior looks like it wants to get down to speedy
business. But as you look closer, you can see that there have been
some nice upgrades. The high-back front bucket seats are a newer
update with better contouring. Yours even power adjusts to the
ideal driving position. It goes well with the good-looking
carpeting, door panels, headliner, dash, and center console. The
stereo has even been upgraded to a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner
with aux input. But owning a coupe like this is all about the
driving experience. You instantly feel the tingle of power as you
slip behind the NK4 sports steering wheel, gaze at the upgraded
AutoMeter Carbon Fiber gauge package, and grab the B&M
shifter.
When you open the hood, the engine radiates a powerful style from
the dark engine bay with the bold block, finned valve covers, and
shining air grabber. At the center is a strong 350 cubic-inch V8
with a four-bolt main that is even said to possibly be a stroker
motor. It has been enhanced and fortified with Crane roller
rockers. We also have a receipt from April 2022 documenting work on
the crankshaft, main bearings, rod bearings, a new intake gasket,
and timing cover. This has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and a sweet-sounding dual exhaust.
The stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission gets even better
with new mounts and recently overhauled with a new valve body and
3500 stall. This feeds into a 10-bolt Positraction rear end (we
have a $1,700 receipt for this rebuild in January 2022.). Power
steering, power brakes, front discs, and a rear sway bar all
combine to give you true confidence.
This is a strong-running and striking real-deal Z/28 Camaro. And
you already know obtaining a turn-key example of an enhanced and
celebrated muscle machine like this is a fleeting opportunity. So
