Vehicle Description
The Superformance Coupe or Superformance Shelby Daytona Coupe is
the only licensed continuation of the original Shelby Daytona coupe
racing cars of the 1960s. The body was designed by Pete Brock (who
designed the original race cars) and a chassis designed by Bob
Negstad (who designed the original race chassis), it is viewed by
many to be the most authentic modern continuation of the original 6
Shelby Daytona coupes. It is the only Shelby Daytona coupe approved
and licensed by Shelby and the only Shelby Daytona coupe aside from
the original half-dozen cars eligible for the Shelby Registry.
The car has a front mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout, with a
55R/45F weight distribution.
Roush Performance was the official supplier of engines for the
coupe, and the majority of American owners choose a Roush engine
based on a 351 Windsor block. The most sought after displacement
for engines is obviously 427 cubic inches.
SPC0140 is painted in Corsa Red with White Twin Stripes. Then a
Polished Roush 427IR with 8 Stack Individual Electronic Fuel
Injection was shoehorned into the engine bay and mated to a Tremec
5 Speed Manual Transmission. The engine is dressed in Roush
Polished Aluminum Valve Covers and features an Accusump oil
accumulator system. A 5lb Safecraft fire suppression system is
plumbed into the engine bay, driver footwell, and fuel tank.
SPC0140 has BRE (Brock Racing Enterprises) wheels, gauges, and
polished stainless steel side pipes. It also has a Coupe
Connections rear glass window and power steering pump. To stop the
car, the standard brakes have been replaced with Brembo 6 piston
front and 4 piston rear calipers. To protect the paint, Clear Bra
Rock protection has been placed on the front nose and rear quarter
of this beautiful Daytona Coupe.
To cap it all off, the glovebox door of SPC0140 carries the names
of Peter Brock, Dan Gurney, Bob Bondurant, Allen Grant, and Jim
Price.
SPC0140 is titled as a 2011 Superformance and has 11,595 miles.
SPC0140 is available for $169,950.
