R134A A/C HIGH POINT OF MID-1960S AUTOMOBILE DESIGN Following the
1961-63 Bullet Bird, the fourth-generation 1964-66 Ford Thunderbird
lineup was informally known as the Flair Bird or Glamor Bird for
good reason, sporting handsome, all-new styling. Some innovations
intended for the new Thunderbird line were delayed for the launch
year and only reached production by 1965, including standard front
disc brakes and eye-catching sequential rear turn-signal
indicators, which finally overcame approval delays in certain
states. Thunderbird sales remained strong, despite significant
internal competition from the newly introduced Mustang after
mid-1964. Jet Age styling cues, especially inside, set the 1964-66
Thunderbirds apart from the competition and continue to captivate
enthusiasts and collectors today. As always, the Thunderbird
offered plenty of power and delivered effortless cruising with the
standard 4-barrel 390 CI V-8 engine uprated to a robust
315-horsepower factory rating for 1966.Featuring excellent Light
Blue over Navy Blue vinyl the factory-original color combination,
this beautifully preserved 1966 Ford Thunderbird Landau is offered
with just 38K actual miles and benefits from single-family
ownership and care since new. Retaining the original paint finish,
interior, and trunk compartment all in fabulous condition, the
Thunderbird delivers an unforgettable experience with its aircraft
cockpit-styled interior and overhead controls. A lifelong
Greensboro, North Carolina-based example, this stellar classic
Thunderbird even retains the original selling dealer sticker. In
addition to the renowned 390 cubic-inch V-8 engine delivering 315
factory-rated horsepower, mated to a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic
automatic transmission, this very fine 1966 Thunderbird Landau is
well equipped and optioned with air conditioning, an AM radio,
power brakes, and power steering, plus a Tilt-Away steering column,
wrap-around rear seat, and unforgettable sequential taillights. The
brakes are freshly serviced, new tires have just been fitted, and
the air conditioning is updated to currently-mandated R134a
refrigerant, making this stellar 1966 Bullet Bird ready to drive
and enjoy as desired. As they rightly say, a car is original only
once, and this exceptionally well preserved 1966 Ford Thunderbird
Landau clearly benefits from limited use and single-family
ownership from new. Contact us today, see it for yourself and make
