Vehicle Description
Presenting a Bentley Mulsanne S in classic Cotswold beige with
black hand-painted fine lines to its waist-rails. The interior is
finished in pristine Magnolia Connolly hides with dark brown piping
and contrasting tan carpets with matching Magnolia binding.
Condition-wise, this would arguably be amongst the nicest late 80s
Bentley in North America. This is a true 9 out of 10 car that is
of show quality standard. It has an amazing 16,680 original miles
and the car simply looks like it is new. All original paint and
finishes. The interior even smells like a brand new Bentley (I will
never forget the smell when I visited the Crewe factory in the late
1990s!) This is highly optioned 2 owner example which has been
meticulously maintained by its previous Bentley enthusiast owners.
It is a Canada specification car hence the kilometre speedometer
(26,850 klms = 16,680 miles). The car is in full compliance with US
standards. Its first Toronto base owner was a big-time collector of
Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars. The car was always maintained
in a warehouse with a collection of some 30+ Crewe car. He owned
the car up until 2014 at which time we purchased her. At that time,
she had 15,070 miles. We sold the car to the 2nd owner, also a
Rolls-Royce and Bentley enthusiast, who covered only 1,600 miles
during his stewardship. The car remained unchanged in every other
way since we sold the car 8 years ago. An impeccably maintained
example in excellent condition and presents beautifully. It sported
the original specification and factory fitted Goodyear NCT tyres -
these are no longer available and old and will be changed prior to
delivery. Being a Mulsanne S it has the 4 large round headlamps
from the Turbo R and the full length centre console also from its
big brother. She sports her own alloy wheels. The body and paint is
in excellent original condition with virtually no imperfections.
The car still "dressed" in its original single stage paint and is a
fantastic testament to its coddled ownership and originality. It is
high in lustre, completely consistent and just beautiful. The
interior straight-grain walnut wood finishes are in almost perfect
condition and are also the factory original Rolls-Royce/Bentley
factory finish. The rich depth of the quasi-ebony finish contrasts
very handsomely with the almost white leather seats and finishings.
The Connolly hides are pretty much without blemish and present like
new. They are very soft and supple as has been captured in the
photos where I have "squeezed" the leather. Simply stunning and
beautiful - in need of nothing. Truly exquisite. The dash
"top-roll" and rear parcel shelf are flawless. The headliner is
simply "like new" and the carpets still "wool-ball" like new ones.
Having spent almost all its life indoors, and in the last 25 years
in climate controlled museum storage at all times, the car is very
clean and dry and there are absolutely no signs of rust.
Mechanically the car has been well maintained. The condition and
presentation under the hood is excellent testimony to this. It was
not even cleaned for the photos. The mileage is not verifiable by
independent receipts but upon close inspection; under the hood, the
underside, inside the doors, etc, there can be absolutely no
question to its authenticity. Being such a "perfect" example,
needless to say, she has an off-the-chart Autocheck score of 73 out
of a range of 44 to 59.
