Vehicle Description
Trucks make great hotrods and this custom 1928 Ford Model A
3-Window Pickup offers all the same tricks as its roadster and
coupe siblings with a big slice of practicality on the side.
Featuring a super-cool Jack Daniels theme, this one-of-a-kind build
separates itself from the crowd with gorgeous Teal Blue paint, a
custom bed filled with precious cargo, an unreal bespoke interior,
and a 350/350 powerplant that's been dialed-in to hit the road.
Show-or-go, they don't get more interesting than this, nor are they
typically this beautifully executed and turn-key ready.
Bright Teal Blue livery suits the jaunty little pickup bodywork
just fine, and we're glad that none of the upright boxy shape has
been cut, chopped, or otherwise modified. That's not to say that
this truck doesn't have a few tricks up its sleeve though - with
that wicked stance, exposed engine bay, and custom bed out back.
The distinctive Model A grille and hood (complete with removable
side panels) are neatly rounded and butt up against that upright
cab for a wonderful antique look, while the tan vinyl roof top, the
cab visor, and those swooping fenders and running boards are all
original-style design elements, but when coated with that gorgeous
Teal Blue paint, the truck looks much more contemporary. The
impressive, top driver-quality finish likely has a lot to do with
that, as does the truck's raked stance and flashy wheels, but
nevertheless we simply love the look. The shiny bumper, King Bee
style headlights, and hood ornament start the party up front, while
out back the diminutive bed has a whole lot going for it -
decorative 'stake' rails up top, a gorgeous woodbed and chrome
slats on the floor, and a genuine Jack Daniels oak barrel strapped
inside. Man, what a sweet hotrod!
The interior was fully upgraded with the Jack Daniels theme as
well, starting with comfortable bucket seats upholstered in tan
hides with black alligator inserts. Custom door panels were
finished to match, complete with 'Old No. 7' branding, plush brown
carpeting covers the floor, and the inside of the cab and kick
panels was lined with tan upholstery. The headliner is certainly
worth a longer look, where noting short of a stereo magician
mounted a custom stereo system complete with black alligator skins
around speaker enclosures, and a wood center panel that houses a
set of dome lights and a modern JVC head unit. The custom dash
continues the trick theme - where chrome, woodgrain, and leather
come to meet - and it's been filled with a host of Classic
Instruments gauges, switches/controls finished with Jack Daniels
bottle caps, and an R134a A/C system. A wood-rimmed steering wheel
was mounted atop a polish tilt column to add a little more room for
the driver, and there's a B&M shifter in the floor that manages
the automatic transmission below. It may seem a bit wild inside at
first, but once you settle in it's easy to see that this '28 was
built for comfort.
The engine is a tried-and-true 350 V8 Goodwrench crate engine
that's properly dressed for duty. Polished pieces are used
throughout to make it sparkle, and anything that wasn't polished or
detailed was treated to gold accent paint, including those trick
Edelbrock valve covers. The accessories are pulled in tight to the
block, so it all fits pretty neatly under the hood, and it's fed by
an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and augmented with aluminum heads
and a lopey cam inside. The suspension has been upgraded
front-to-back and features a 4-link and coilovers in the rear, so
this little truck actually handles quite well, and with a proper
TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end it can
handle all the horsepower with ease. And for a little added rumble,
shorty headers feed a dual exhaust featuring Flowmaster mufflers
that sound fantastic. It's got exactly the right stance, too,
wearing flashy American Racing Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in
staggered 205/40/17 front and 275/50/17 rear performance
radials.
Clean, quick, fun, and with an awesome theme, this '28 pickup is a
great way to cruise in style. Call now!
