Vehicle Description

1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Matching Engine Numbers

Car History

The Corvette was always America's only true sports car and the 1966 Corvette, like the one we have here at Adventure Classics, is a perfect example.

It is painted in the original Trophy Blue it came in, has the original numbers matching, per the engine stampings showing the HO code and vin number, 327-300 horse engine with a PowerGlide auto transmission, original code 414 Bright Blue interior, a black convertible top, and knock-off wire wheels. What more do you need?

Engine & Drivetrain

These Corvettes always had performance under the hood and ours has the original numbers matching HO code 327 cubic inch V8 engine 300 horse engine backed by the PowerGlide automatic transmission.

From the minute you open the hood and see restored small block with its orange painted engine block, valve covers, and intake to the chrome open air cleaner, factory cast iron Rams Head exhaust manifolds, 4-barrell, shielded distributor, and backed by the PowerGlide automatic, and all sitting in a correctly restored engine compartment with all the right parts, you will know that this Corvette was built right and meant to run.

Interior

Our Sting Ray offers a completely luxurious driving environment with the interior featuring trim of durable expanded vinyl with a more subtle texture on its individual twin #414 Bright Blue bucket seats, that have a factory bolster-like design for more seating comfort and better lateral support.

It also has black carpet, blue door panels, Corvette floor mats, dual sun visors, blue seatbelts, a great factory dash with all the right factory gauges, electrical clock, radio and vent controls, matched speedometer and tachometer, electrical fuel gauge with a head-light switch, cigarette lighter, head-lamp retractor switch, hood release, great factory Corvette polished and wood steering wheel, and four-position ignition switch that complete the instrument panel.

Exterior

The 980AA Trophy Blue paint job on our 1966 Sting Ray is beautiful as it floes over the hood and louvers behind the front wheels that help increase air flow through the engine compartment, giving it both an aggressive and sophisticated look.

All the trim, bumpers, taillights, door handles, the flip-up gas cap, and the black convertible top is in great condition as is the correct 15-inch cast aluminum wheels with the knock-off type hubs and white sidewall tires which recreate the original look.

Conclusion

More than ever, the 1966 Corvette Roadster we have here at Adventure Classics is luxurious transportation for two, backed by the potent original numbers-matching 327-300 horse engine, blue on blue scheme and with the black convertible top, that will give you a winning combination of top-down Corvette driving than you may have ever had.
