No expense spared rotisserie, nut and bolt restoration. This is one
of the nicest FJ40s in existence! Every part was rebuilt and
restored. Only 621 miles since finished (odometer is in km). At 500
miles the entire vehicle was inspected, nuts and bolts were
retorqued.
EXTERIOR: It was stripped down to a bare metal body and put on a
rotisserie. No rust, no body filler. It lived it's entire life down
south. It is straight, fits right. Repainted it's original yellow
color, smooth glossy finish. Original parts were used, no cheap
reproductions. Example: front turn signals Toyota-$500,
aftermarket-$77. Literally, right down to the cadmium plated screws
and hardware, it's new. Complete new tan cloth soft top. Roll up
side curtains, the plastic is as clear as glass. Very desirable
ambulance style rear doors. It has a step plate to get in the back.
New windshield, it folds down. New gaskets and weatherstrips. 5 new
mud terrain tires and correct restored wheels.
INTERIOR: Just as nice inside. The metal was completely painted
gloss yellow. All of the gauges, knobs, levers, visors look new.
The seats were rebuilt, recushioned and upholstered. Correct sewn
vinyl floor mat. Retractable shoulder belts. Just like the outside,
all the screws look new. Under the dash looks new.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the optional 2F 4.2 liter 6 cylinder
motor. It was completely rebuilt. Proper brake in was followed, oil
changed at 500 miles. Every component was restored and detailed
like new. Every bracket, fitting, nut and bolt look new. The carb,
alternator, steering components look new. It is correct down to the
hose clamps. It has power brake system.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inward facing fold up jump seats look new.
Glossy painted floor with new carpet.
UNDERSIDE: The chassis was stripped down to a bare frame. The frame
was powder coated. Completely rebuilt suspension and steering. New
body bushings. Correct replacement exhaust system. Brake system was
completely restored. The 4-speed manual transmission was rebuilt,
hydraulic clutch was replaced. Transfer case, front rear
differentials were rebuilt. It has a selectable transfer case- 2
wheel high, 4 high, 4 low. The 4 wheel drive functions. New fuel
system including the tank, sending unit and lines.
This is crazy nice. I'm sure it's one of the best you will find
anywhere. I've seen similar ones sell for over $100,000 recently.
