This 1987 Ferrari Testarossa was sold new by Walnut Creek Ferrari in California and was acquired by the current owner in 2001. The car is finished in Rosso Corsa over tan leather upholstery, and power comes from a numbers-matching 4.9-liter flat-12 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Features include powered windows, an Alpine 7166 cassette stereo, power-adjustable seats, and center-lock 16? Cromodora wheels. An engine-out timing belt service was performed by GTO Engineering of Los Angeles, California, in March 2022 along with the installation of new tires and a refinishing of the valve covers, while a new throttle microswitch, coolant expansion tank, and left secondary air pump pipe were installed the following month. This Testarossa shows 47k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment with factory books, tools, recent service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the current owner’s name.
The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in Rosso Corsa (FER 300/6) and features an asymmetric cooling duct beneath the left fog lamp as well as pop-up headlights, dual mirrors, side intake strakes, and black-finished rocker panels.
The 16? Cromodora center-lock wheels are mounted with 225/50 front and 255/50 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires that were installed in March 2022. A five-spoke spare wheel with a Goodyear temporary use tire is mounted in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by discs at all four corners. Fresh brake fluid was added in March 2022.
The two-tone cabin features power-adjustable seats trimmed in tan Connolly leather along with a matching rear bulkhead and upper door panels, while the dashboard, center console, lower door panels, and carpets are trimmed in contrasting brown. Equipment includes an Alpine 7166 cassette stereo and a gated shifter located on the center console alongside controls for the air conditioning, rear window defroster, power windows, and remote mirror adjustment. The air conditioning does not work, and wear on the driver’s seat outer bolster can be seen in the gallery along with tears in the leather dashboard cover.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,750-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. Additional gauges are housed in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows under 47k miles, approximately 13,500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 48-valve 4.9-liter F113 flat-12 features Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory-rated at 380 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. An engine-out service performed in March 2022 included the installation of a new timing belt, gaskets, accessory belts, spark plugs, and water pump seals. The valve covers were also refinished at that time, and a new throttle microswitch, coolant expansion tank, and left secondary air pump pipe were installed in April 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Fresh transaxle oil was added in March 2022.
A series of composite images created by the selling dealer can be seen in the gallery, and includes photos of VIN ZFFSG17A1H0069009 in several areas along with engine and transaxle stampings, body numbers, and factory labels. Engine number *00536* matches the number listed on the warranty card in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows history in California and Arizona from April 1991 to December 2021 and lists no accidents or other damage. The car was designated a Gross Polluter by the state of California in 2017, 2019, and 2021.
