Vehicle Description
This 1949 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck is beautifully restored, mild
custom truck and is ready for some serious summer cruising.
Introduced to dealers in January 1949, little changed from the
previous year on the 1949 Chevrolet truck line, which was
completely redesigned in 1948. Perhaps the most notable change was
the new "Advanced Design" cab, that was said to be roomier, safer,
more comfortable and more convenient in Chevy's 1949 advertising
materials. The 1949 Chevrolet trucks also outsold the previous year
models by nearly 10%. Likely due to the popularity of the Advance
Design Chevy trucks, they are commonly recipients of restomod
restorations which make them even more enjoyable to drive. This
particular 1949 Chevrolet 3100 was purchased new in Durand,
Illinois and comes to us having been the beneficiary of a very
tasteful restomod-type restoration. Under the hood on this '49
Chevy Pickup is an upgraded 235 Cu. In. Inline 6 Cylinder engine
paired with a Holley "Quick Fuel" Single 4 Barrel Carburetor. The
235 Inline 6 is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission which makes
driving this classic Chevrolet truck an absolute joy. The engine is
also equipped with several performance upgrades including an
Offenhauser head and valve cover, a PerTronix Flame-Thrower
ignition coil, aluminum radiator, and MSD distributor. The truck
was also upgraded to a more reliable 12 volt electrical system with
a new wiring harness. This '49 Chevy 3100 also features upgraded
front disc brakes to that you have plenty of stopping power. With a
positraction rear end, you'll be sure that you'll keep the rubber
to the pavement on this Chevy truck. The chrome and brightwork
around the exterior of this pickup truck is in nice shape as well.
The exterior has been beautifully refinished in a two-tone paint
scheme consisting of White and Jet Black. Riding on P205/55R15
radial tires in the front and P265/50R15 radials in the rear, this
truck has a nice stance and even better ride. The steel box, wooden
slats, and wood bed with chrome hold-down strips are in fantastic
shape as well. The interior on this '49 Chevy is superb. The
two-tone White/Black theme is carried throughout the interior. The
front bench seat has been beautifully reupholstered in white and
black vinyl. The dash door panels, steering wheel, and headliner
are all in wonderful condition and tastefully done in the
white/black color scheme as well. The dash is equipped with
upgraded Omega Kustom Instrumentation including a 140 MPH
speedometer, temperature gauge, volt gauge, oil pressure gauge, and
fuel gauge. An Equus 8,000 RPM tachometer is mounted to the
steering column as well. A retro-style AM/FM radio was added as
well so that you can listen to all of your tunes while cruising.
Whether you're want to buy your very first classic pickup truck or
you're adding to your existing collection, this 1949 Chevrolet 3100
Pickup would make an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
