Mechanical
Under the hood of this 1970 Chevelle SS is its 396 cubic inch V8
engine verified by the engine stamping and casting numbers CKN with
the engine block and heads all painted in the correct Chevrolet
factory orange paint.
The original big-block V8 was called the SS 396, but the motor
actually displaced a larger 402 cubic-inches from the factory.
It has factory correct parts on it like the four-barrel carburetor,
intake, chrome valve covers, black painted factory cowl induction
single snorkel air cleaner, power steering and power brakes with
factory front disc brakes, factory Air Conditioning, and upgrades
like long tube performance exhaust headers and MSD ignition.
The engine bay is detailed as is the chassis with the dual exhaust
running out under the rear bumper thru chrome tips on each side,
sway bars front & rear, and the TH 400 automatic transmission that
runs to a 12-bolt rear end out back.
Add in and the good grip of wide Master Craft Avenger GT raised
white letter tires mounted on the factory 5-spoke SS wheels and you
get this big block which is a true driver's machine.
Interior
The black bucket seat with headrest and matching rear seat interior
is mostly original! Everything looks factory correct and just like
it came from the factory back in 1970.
It has an aftermarket stereo radio, factory dash and gauges,
aftermarket tachometer and accessory gauge package, center console,
dual-spoke SS steering wheel, and matching black carpet, and door
panels.
The result is a Chevelle SS that feels like a time piece as it is
in excellent condition top to bottom. The trunk is also finished in
grey trunk splatter paint and has a factory grey mat and spare tire
jack and stand.
Exterior
Our Chevelle is finished in stunning Red paint flowing over the
cowl induction hood with the black SS stripes, super straight
factory panels, blacked-out grille, rear panel, bulging fenders,
and the fastback hardtop profile.
The chrome bumpers, wheel arch trim, Chevelle and SS badging really
look great and draw people to the car at shows or even gas
stations.

engine CKN, automatic, 12-bolt rear end, and black bucket seat
interior here for sale at Skyway Classics, is one of them collector
