Corvette pace car for your consideration. This Corvette comes with
an incredible $20,000+ dollars in receipts from various
improvements and service performed on this vehicle since
approximately 2015. Finished in the iconic Black, Silver, and Red
pace car livery over a silver vinyl interior. The interior of this
vehicle was treated to new seats and door cards in 2015 at a cost
of over $5,000. Powering this Corvette is a 350ci V8 which sends
the power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission.
The odometer currently reads 44,473 miles. This Corvette has been
well maintained and just needs a new owner to enjoy.
For the 1978 Indianapolis 500, Chevrolet was given the opportunity
to sponsor the official pace car for the 5th time in the
manufacturer's history. Chevrolet made four official pace cars to
use in the race and to cover all press duties of the event.
Following the Indy 500, Chevrolet made another 6,502 Corvettes as
replica pace cars, supposedly one for each existing dealership at
the time.
