The Avanti and the Avanti II were American built performance sports coupes based on the 1963 Studebaker Avanti that were sold from 1965 to 2006. After Studebaker closed in 1963 the Avanti Motor Company began making Studebakers using left over Studebaker components in conjunction with GM and Ford chassis and engines until production ceased in 2006. This particular example is equipped with a Studebaker frame, a L48 350ci V8 from a Corvette, a Turbo 350 transmission and a 10 bolt posi rear end. It has the rumble you would expect from a V8 and sounds just plain nasty ripping through its 2.5” performance dual exhaust. It is highly optioned with A/C, power steering, power brakes, cruise control, tilt steering, power windows and a power moon roof. The interior boasts a soft red leather that is in excellent condition with a 3 spoke Avanti steering wheel as well as a comprehensive Stewart Warner 8 gauge dash cluster. The stereo was recently upgraded with a Custom Autosound stereo with newer speakers and it has an alarm with keyless entry as well as a remote trunk opener. The overall condition of this vehicle is excellent, especially when considering its age. It has been recently serviced and everything is working as it should be.
