Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this amazing drop
top 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. Honestly, can you really do
better than a blue-on-blue 1955 Chevy Bel Air convertible? You
can't beat the look, a small block Chevy V8 offers plenty of
performance, and there are a lot fewer of these around than you'd
expect. If you like the '50s, there are few cars more iconic than
this.
A two-tone blue on blue paint job has held up well and looks
natural on a Bel Air convertible, and if you're looking for
attention, you won't be able to escape it whenever you're behind
the wheel of this car. This car has just recently hopped off the
boat from across the pond, where it spent most of its life in
Bogota, Columbia. The navy blue automatic top operates as it
should, and is ready to be dropped for these hot summer days. The
consignor states that the paint and bodywork were done under 10
years ago and it's simply stunning from any angle; this car will
make grown men stop and stare as you motor past. Obviously the work
was well done, and it has a great shine that you'll love polishing
up on a Saturday afternoon and good panel gaps that suggest that
this car has led a good life and there was a lot of time invested
in the restoration. If you want gorgeous, this Chevrolet delivers
in a very big way.
The interior is equally flashy and just as well restored. Wide
bench seats will accommodate six in a pinch, and the pure 1950s
look of the two-tone light blue and cobalt blue upholstery will
make everyone want a ride. Correct Bel Air carpets, matching floor
mats, and new door panels complement the original dash and steering
wheel, which are in truly excellent condition for their age. All
the gauges are restored as well, and everything works like it
should, the hallmark of a top-quality restoration, and it shows
just above 800 miles since the restoration was completed, so it's
still very fresh. A convertible top with clear rear window fits
well, but we all know that it's for emergencies only anyway. And
the trunk is beautifully finished with a correct rubber mat and a
matching spare tire and wheel assembly.
The consignor states that this Chevy is powered by a numbers
matching 265 cuin V8. Dressed in Chevy Orange paint, "Chevrolet"
lettering valve covers, and correct hardware, it looks quite
authentic. Of note, there's a modern 12-volt alternator in place of
the original generator and a great-sounding dual exhaust system
with stock-style mufflers for a 1950s sound. A 3 on the tree manual
transmission means that this car is always ready to go and drum
brakes allow for stopping power on all four corners. Painted on the
steel wheels are small Chevrolet logos that match very well with
the light blue outline, and are complimented by white wall tires
that handle great.
A beautiful, high-quality car that neatly preserves the original
look and feel while adding a few upgrades that make it a pleasure
to drive. This is a fantastic restored Chevy that's ready to drive
and enjoy. Call today!
