clean 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Laramie Club Cab 4x4. That has been
with the same family since new and always garaged. Made on May 22,
1997 at Chrysler?s St. Louis North Assembly Plant in Fenton,
Missouri, this truck has the rare two-tone paint operation, in this
case, black with a Flame Red middle inset (code PX8). The paint and
trim and are in overall very good order with minor blemishes. The
bodywork is straight as are the cargo bed and black over chrome
bumpers. The cab has the sliding rear window option and a bench
jump seat in the rear. This truck rolls on newer Thunderer TracGrip
M/T tires, size 265/75R16 at every corner. Each tire is mounted on
a factory alloy wheel. The wheels and tires are all in very good
order. This truck rides a 118.7-inch wheelbase and has a 7,000
GVWR. New parts ? tires, windshield and battery. Under the hood is
a 5.2L OHV Magnum V-8 engine with multi-point fuel injection and
backed by an automatic transmission with overdrive (code 46RH-RE)
and a New Process 231 transfer case. The power routes to a Dana 44
front axle and a 9.25 Spicer rear axle with a 3.55:1 rear end.
Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, cruise
control, tilt steering column, power window, power locks and power
seat. There?s also a driver?s airbag and rear anti-lock brakes.
Inside, the Mist Gray cloth interior looks good, but the driver?s
side seat shows a blemish. Otherwise, the 40/20/40 bench seat is in
fine form, but the carpet and headliner are in satisfactory shape.
A four-spoke steering wheel with airbag is in decent order. A/C
blows but is not cold. The big dashboard and inner truck liners are
all in very good order. A big console rides between the driver and
passenger for storage options, like a laptop and lunch. A
column-mounted shifter and factory AM/FM stereo round out the
interior. Debuted on January 5, 1993, at the North American
International Auto Show and going on sale on October 1, 1993, the
redesigned 1994 Ram was a sales success and was named ?Truck of the
Year? by Motor Trend in 1994. Sales increased from 95,542 units in
1993 to 232,092 in 1994, 410,000 in 1995, and 411,000 by 1996.
Sales of this generation peaked at just over 400,000 in 1999 before
declining against the redesigned Ford and GM trucks. On the inside,
special attention was paid to in-cab storage features, with a large
glovebox, a center armrest storage area, and extra storage space
behind the seat. Competition to this Ram in 1997 included
Chevrolet?s Silverado half-ton, Ford?s F-150, GMC?s Sierra and
Toyota?s T-100. If you?re ready to give this Ram its second life,
