This 1973 Chevrolet Corvette hits all the high notes: a great/rare
color combo, a numbers-matching four-speed, and a loaded A/C
interior. Plus, the number-matching V8 was rebuilt to be a robust
runner. Even the ultra-low odometer is believed to reflect the full
actual mileage on this ultra-desirable Stingray.
This coupe has the kind of story we love on a classic. The
consignor purchased it from a high school friend. It has been the
kind of car that was off the road for a little while sitting in a
local neighborhood. You know the kind...the one where you drive by
every day and just know you could let it live up to its potential
if you were given the chance. Well, this one was exactly that. It
was resurrected and restored. So you have a fresher style, and
being off the road is part of why this is likely to have such a low
odometer. And this car is a special one. The factory color is just
simply known as "Orange." It is vastly underplaying the story of
this hue. It was only available on Corvettes for a couple of years,
and it is so vibrant that when Buick offered it later they called
it Pumpkin. So we're glad to see a quality investment in a respray
in 2020 that has a nice gloss and a touch of metallic. And this
smooth finish is great for 1973 because it debuted the new sleeker
front end, and this one looks great because it was replaced during
the restoration. The rest of the body is believed to be original,
as they took it down to the fiberglass for the restoration, they
said the body looked exceptional. That's how you get such clean and
crisp lines today.
The correct saddle tan interior looks great against the orange
paint for a factory-correct and true '70s style machine. Corvettes
have always been a great personal sports car in providing
performance features with plenty of creature comforts to make it a
great long-distance cruiser for two. So it's loaded with power
windows, leather seats, and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with aux
input. We all love taking the T-tops out and going for a drive, and
this one is ready for it even in the summer thanks to cold-blowing
air conditioning.
The engine bay gives you the best of both worlds. This is the
numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8. The engine wasn't healthy, and
so it was professionally rebuilt. It includes a hotter cam,
reworked heads with stainless valves, upgraded valve springs, and
more. So today you have originality and robustness. The updated
powerhouse has added pep without crossing over into brute force,
and that makes for a nice pairing with the numbers-matching
four-speed manual transmission. It makes for an all-around awesome
driver thanks to power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and
the fully independent suspension.
The sale comes complete with title documentation, owner's manual,
and build receipts. The T-top covers can even be made available.
This is the Stingray that has history, distinction, and an
all-around great driving attitude. Call today!!!
