Vehicle Description
This Pro-Touring 1968 Camaro was built by Gearhead Garage and is
powered by an LS3 6.2-liter V8 engine backed by a new TKX 5-speed
manual transmission combined with a McLeod RST Street twin-clutch.
The Ford 9-inch rear end with Truetrac and 3.42 gears handles the
power while sitting on a fully powder-coated Stage 2 Total Cost
Involved frame and torque arm suspension setup. The mini tubbing
allows the car to sit on 18x9 front and 19x11 rear Forgeline wheels
with 275 and 315 G Force Rival tires. Stopping power is provided by
12-inch Wilwood crossed drilled rotors and Wilwood Hydropower
brakes with a stand-alone reservoir creating around 1,800psi of
line pressure. The exterior features upgraded Modern Detroit speed
hideaway headlights, 2-inch cowl induction hood, cosmetic covers
installed in the front quarter panels and a hidden windshield wiper
motor. All glass was replaced with modern smoked glass (no tint).
The houndstooth interior reflects era-specific seat frames, Stage 4
Vintage Air heat and air conditioning along with the modern
controls that allow you to pick the fan speed, Ididit tilt steering
column and a Billet Specialties steering wheel. An Alpine unit
controls the Audio Dynamics 4000 component speakers with two
10-inch subwoofers inside of a sealed and ported box within the
trunk that was built to cover the stereo system and relocated
battery. The wiring was redone with American Auto Wiring. This
Camaro won 2019 Goodguys Muscle Machine of the Year and was a
finalist at the Del Mar show.
