"Touting style and sophistication, this sleek tourer/sports car was
in production from Jan. 1988- Spring 1991. Ahead of its time with
an Electronic Control System complete with digital dashboard, 16
inch wheels, automatic headlights, driver's air bag, fully
independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes and ABS with front
wheel drive; the Buick Reatta was assembled at the Reatta Craft
Center by individual teams vs. an assembly line. Only 21,751
Reatta's were produced in its 3.5 years with there being 1,214
coupes in the final model year that ended May, 1991.
Uniquely featured are twin bucket seats with a storage area behind
the seats, two lockable bins and a lockable access hatch to the
rear trunk which has a huge storage space.Included are CD and
cassette player, with gray pin striping matching the dove gray
interior of this white coupe.
The original zippered leather owner's folio is included holding the
manual, pens, and tire gauge as well as a "Craftsman's Log" with
the signatures of the supervisors for the cars assembly. Upgraded
R-134A air conditioning, replaced headliner, and new front head
light assemblies are the only changes to this original beauty that
include original mats and lifetime Firestone front end
alignment.
My dad promised my mom a White Christmas in 1990 when they ordered
the Reatta and he saved the Playboy comic from November of that
year to give to her when they picked up the car the following
August. My dad's first initial was R and he found it humorous my
mom drove her sports car with R on all the wheels. Purchased at
Crown Chevrolet/Buick in Dublin California 8/24/1991 it was only
driven to and from work, always garaged, never left California, and
has 74700 freeway miles on it. When my mom stopped driving in 2007,
the car went to me
where it has been loved and cared for the same way."
