Vehicle Description
This 1969 Porsche 912 coupe was acquired by the current owner in
2012 as a rolling project car and subsequently fitted with
equipment from a 1979 911SC. The car is finished in orange over
black and powered by a 3.2-liter Motronic flat-six paired with a
915 five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes 15?
Fuchs wheels, H4 headlights, a front-mount oil cooler, Recaro
Idealsitz-S seats, a MOMO steering wheel, RS-style door panels, and
a custom stereo system. Recent service included installing the
engine, adjusting the valves, and replacing the fuel lines,
ignition coil, altitude sensor, and valve cover gaskets. This 912
is now offered on behalf of the current owner with recent service
records and a clean California title. The seller reports that rust
was repaired and the front suspension pan was replaced prior to a
repaint in orange. Equipment includes a vented front bumper, H4
headlights, pop-out rear vent windows, and 911T badging. Stone
chips have been touched up, and the left door handle has pitting on
the inner trigger. Refinished 15? x 7? Fuchs wheels wear Kumho
Ecsta AST tires showing 2017 date codes. The rear wheels have been
widen to 8?. The suspension and brakes were reportedly sourced from
a 1979 911SC. The interior was refreshed and features Recaro
Idealsitz-S seats, RS-style door panels, replacement black
carpeting, an aftermarket AM/FM cassette radio, and aftermarket
speakers. The passenger seat is not adjustable fore and aft.
Instrumentation was sourced from a 911SC and includes a 7k-rpm
tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and combination
gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 166k miles, approximately 2k
of which were added by the current owner. True mileage is unknown.
The original 1.6-liter flat-four was first replaced with a
3.0-liter flat-six, and a 3.2-liter Motronic flat-six was installed
by Robert Ginsburg of Woodland Hills California in April 2022.
Additional service at that time included adjusting the valves and
replacing the ignition coil, altitude sensor, fuel lines, and valve
cover gaskets. The stamping *64G06140* indicates that the engine
was originally built for a 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera. Power is sent
to the rear wheels through a 915 five-speed manual transaxle that
was reportedly sourced from a 1979 911SC. Additional photos of the
underside are provided in the gallery.
