Vehicle Description
This 1986 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 4x4 is quite an interesting truck.
It's highly original on the unique exterior, but there have been
investments inside to give you a comfortable A/C interior. And with
a fuel-injected V8 and overdrive transmission, it makes for an
all-around interesting cruiser.
The exterior shows all the right signs of being original. It's
unknown if the odometer reflects the full actual mileage, but there
is a patina kind of style settling in that gives this truck plenty
of personality. And the multi-fade Boss side stripes add to the
character. We're not really sure about any official Boss Editions
to the F-150. It likely was a dealer-level upgrade to make a more
unique pickup. Of course, the XLT Lariat 4x4 was pretty much the
range-topper for the F-150s, and so it certainly was the Boss on
the lot. And it all makes for added distinction on why we love such
an original presentation on this pickup. Plus, when it has a
work-ready appearance, you're not afraid to use this 4x4 to the
fullest. So just imagine hooking up a classic Master Craft to the
trailer hitch and using this one at the boat launch.
The red interior looks particularly nice because there was a nice
investment to make sure the right pieces were comfortable. The
carpet, dash pad, headliner, and velour bench seat are all newer
pieces. And as a premium XLT Lariat, you get an impressive number
of features. It includes power windows, power locks, cruise
control, and a sliding rear window. This even has cold-blowing air
conditioning.
Under the hood is the mighty 302 cubic-inch V8. This was one of the
first years for standard fuel injection, and that makes for a nice
classic with good power and consistency. There were even more
recent investments in a new fuel tank and exhaust to keep this a
real driver. Plus, there are good everyday features like power
steering, power brakes, front discs, and a four-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive. The two-speed 4x4 transfer case keeps
this quite a useful truck. And the wheels and tires are new just to
give it the right amount of flair and function.
Complete with owner's manual, this F-150 has been the Boss for over
35 years, and it has been given the right investment to show it's
nowhere near retiring. So if you want a distinct classic patina
4x4, call today!
