Vehicle Description
2019 Cadillac ATS-V Pedestal Edition
The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe debuted at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
The two door Cadillac targeted Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and the
BMW 4 Series. It went on sale in the summer of 2014 as the 2015
Cadillac ATS Coupe. The ATS coupe is wider than the sedan. Two
models were available at launch, one with a 2.0L four-cylinder
engine with 272hp and 295lbft of torque, the other with a 3.6L
engine with 321hp and 275lbft of torque. Buyers have a choice of a
six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, and the
option of all wheel drive or standard rear wheel drive. The 2015
Cadillac ATS Coupe is the first production model to wear Cadillac's
newly revised brand logo without its previous laurel wreath and was
first shown on the Cadillac Elmiraj concept car. The Cadillac ATS-V
is a high-performance version of the Cadillac ATS, similar to how
the CTS-V is to the standard CTS model. The ATS-V series includes
two body styles, which feature a turbocharged DOHC V-6 engine and a
sport-tuned suspension. The ATS-V sedan and coupe were introduced
for the 2016 model year.
For consignment, an ATS-V from the 2019 model year, an elite
high-performance coupe if you will. Track capable from the factory,
the ATS-V is also a luxury car, with all the comfort and
sophistication expected from a Cadillac. The powertrain includes a
direct-injected twin-turbocharged 464-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine paired
with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Mechanical features
include Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo performance brakes, an
electronic limited slip differential, and redesigned and upgraded
chassis, suspension, and drivetrain systems. The body includes a
carbon-fiber hood for lightness, specially designed front and rear
fascias for improved airflow around the car, and wider fenders to
accommodate the 18-inch wheels and tires. Inside, the ATS-V
features standard power sport seats with leather and sueded
microfiber seat trim or upgraded Recaro seating, other standard
features include eight airbags, Cadillac CUE, Bose audio, rear
vision camera, and keyless access and ignition. All this wrapped up
in a 1,953 original mile package. Put that in your pipe and smoke
it...right along with the competition!
Exterior
The ATS-V looks good...by 2019 Cadillac started to tone down its
design language with anonymous vehicles like the new XT6, however,
the ATS-V is a reminder of how attractive the brand's Arts and
Science styling was. Sharp and angular, with healthily flared wheel
arches, a big rear wing, and a vented hood, this Cadillac is a
pleasant reprieve from the smooth, organic styling of Germany's
competitors, and the Bronze Sand Metallic paint has grown on me and
now has become a love affair with the hue. With its facet chiseled
design, tinted windows, and Bronze Sand coating for the straight
steel the car retains its unassuming look but in reality, it is a
smoker! The exterior paint has been sealed with a ceramic coating
and is the deep end of the pool. A very aero front with black
chrome accenting the stainless mesh grille and lower air dam keeps
with the Caddy tradition and shows just a hint of the luxury this
car abounds with. 2 doors for that sporty single guy or gal appeal
and the tall vertical back of this car with more faceted design for
the tail lighting, we can see two large tailpipes exhaling just
below the integrated bumper. 18-inch After Midnight wheels are
wrapped with the factory staggered width high performance rubber to
complete the package.
Interior
Nicely Jet Black molded and smooth to the touch door panels along
with a bronze carbon fiber inlay containing all the necessary
buttons and toggles to make life just a bit easier on the road.
Passengers are treated to high back Jet Black leather bolster
buckets with Light Wheat leather inserts for the Recaro seating. We
note power toggles on the sides of the front chairs. In back a nice
long bench in the same pattern as the buckets, stretches from door
to door. A center console races from the back to the dash and
houses the suede wrapped shifter. In the dash center is a long
panel containing a digital climate control panel, a Bose Premium
AM/FM/Bluetooth/Apple Carplay/Android Auto/Sirius stereo and
navigation, all within the interactive screen. Despite the exterior
facet design, the interior takes on all smooth curves for the dash
and dash top. Simple gauges just glow at you in front of the
leather and suede wrapped sporty steering wheel. Also onboard is a
performance video and data recorder. Above is a sunroof and below
is nicely preserved black carpeting along with sport alloy
pedals.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a pristine showroom new engine that is a thriller
in the form of a 3.6 Liter DOHC VVT GDI V6 with the added help of
twin turbochargers. This lethal combination churns out an asphalt
melting 464hp. On the back is a 8L90 8-speed transmission with the
optional magnesium paddle shifters, (who'd-of-thought I be saying
paddle shifters for a Cadillac?!). A 2.85 limited slip differential
is on the back.
Undercarriage
Underneath is a play on straight rust-free steel mixing with
stamped floor pans and aero ground effect panels. Not even a hint
of rust under here! The Brembo power disc brakes have 6 piston
calipers in the front and 4 piston calipers in the rear.
Independent suspension is on for both the front and rear and works
with the magnetic ride control to keep you properly gripping the
road. Factory installed dual exhaust is on and looks like the day
it rolled off the assembly line.
Drive-Ability
Who would have thought Cadillac would have a sports car but it
definitely does not disappoint. Plenty of invigorating
acceleration, Jesus bar grabbing handling, and bias free panic
stopping on a dime. All functions were working perfectly at the
time of my test drive. A definite "A" ticket ride.
Very nicely preserved with ultra-low miles for this near race car
in street trim. I should say a sports car that wraps itself in
luxury and conveniences. Some extras added on by checking the right
boxes when it was ordered, and total performance from this
specially tuned twin turbo powerplant, now gracing our Hallowed
Halls and ready for you and your upcoming track day event.
